Aww, this is a little bit of weird news, but cool for fans of very pretty Japanese videogames. As some of you might know, famed Japanese animation house Studio Ghibli, the creators of such illuminous films as Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away had been working on the animation for a Level 5's upcoming Ni no kuni: The Another World for the DS. While this in itself is exciting, what is more interesting is what Famitsu announced today.
Via Adriasang, Ni no Kuni: The Another World will be coming to the PS3 with Move support, and should better represent the insanely good animation that Studio Ghibli is known for. While the DS version of the game is apparently still coming this fall to Japan (and looks like a DS title when viewed in-game), the PS3 version does not have a release date, although images shown were impressive in replicating the artistic design of Studio Ghibli. Level 5 will be having a press conference later this week, so hopefully we can gain some better insight of this title, as well as the development status of the PS3 version. Maybe even a US release date!

Two questions I hope someone can answer:
How involved are Ghibli?
What Type of game is it?
1. The game was always promoted at the end of the japanese trailers as "for DS and another platform", we all just assumed the other platform was the Wii. Guess not!
2. The game has two different story versions, the DS and the PS3 one.
3. It's not a "port" of the DS game, it's being developed for the PS3 as well from the ground up.
Here is a scan of the PS3 version, came out in Famitsu today:

Here is a scan of the PS3 version, came out in Famitsu today. We all can agree that it looks, well... different from the DS images. Also, some of those pictures are gameplay, stated by Famitsu:

You must watch more Ghibli! Their films make you smarter and smell better! & they are omgsuchcoolcartoons!
I was so effing excited for the DS version that never in my wildest dreams would I have thought it would also be on PS3. This blew my mind and made my day. They have 2 definite sales from me already!!
Too bad it's probably too late to go 3DS on this.
Thanks for the image. The game is looking really great.
As for the relevant conjecture, I think Move support is the title's dirty little secret and will surely sell me on it if it is in fact announced.
Looks like I'm buying a Move.
Pom-poko is the name your looking for...And yeah it was a pretty strange but great film.
think I saw a sequel recently too? Either that or i forgot enough of the original to think it was a sequel on watching it again.
Either way, that film fucking rocks!
Can you elaborate, please?
And this news made me really happy.
Slightly unrelated, but how awesome would a proper Nausicaa videogame be?
I guess I just want an excuse to fly around on that Mehve thing.
This article will probably get buried soon, but here's a link to a trailer.
