There is a great deal if scepticism regarding this game but as someone who just lives fighting games I'm pretty excited about this.
I want to see how Zangief would deal with Kings 5 hit throw.

I'm okay with this, I was worried about there being another overflow of fighting games too fast, which would hurt the genre again. Taking time on each one and spacing them out like this makes me much happier.
And I doubt zangeif would care, seeing how King's throws are all more realistic looking/styled, while Zangeif throws people 50 feet into the air and then pile-drives them head first into the ground.

this makes so much sense... and its so nice to see 2 companies getting along too. Really is great news.
as far as Marvel vs Capcom. I just want a Marvel Super Heroes - btw the main reason it was so popular was because of the amazing artwork on them, the new game while still "ok"... dosnt have the same art.
Still i think capcom just needs to make a marvel super heroes game instead.
street fighter 4 just came out - and the tekken one makes much more sense.

I'm curious as well. Kings "Rolling Death Cradle" if applied in Tekken, is instant death.
I'm assuming they will probably make it some form of Ultra with not nearly as much damage.

Son-of-A... Man, I wish they wouldn't announce such awesomeness so far in advance. I want this NOW. Not two years from now :(
Wait, two years? And they're still going to use the same engine as SSF4? This game is going to be outdated when it lands.
@Bakewell - I could care less how Zangief competes with King - what I want to see is him versus Kuma, so we could finally have him wrestle a bear in-game!
Why bother announcing a game that's so far away? It just means more hype to endure and bigger "MEH" when it's finally released. SIX MONTHS TOPS! Hide it in the underwear drawer if you have to. Ugh.

@kingsigy-you mentioned the games will be outdated when it lands. Why do you think that. I would disagree, even as much to say they went back to the 2d (in 3d) style with this iteration which is taken from the original/dated game. I love games that may happen to use an engine that isn't brand new, or games that may have graphics that appear dated, or even considered dated, but but does that make them bad games? Not worth buying, playing?.
Who knows, maybe they use a different engine, a lot can happen in two years. Either way, they will sell well. They also have been using unreal engine and it's itterations for awhile, and are still able to make games look better.

btw, looking forward to the games, more so the idea of two developers doing two games on one idea like this, so super cool. would be nice if they had both versions on one game disc, special edition.
I have that the Tekken version will could probably come out first seeing how Namco havn't released a fighting game since 2009. I mean, Ono pretty much said that he did not know much about what's going on the Namco side of things in the project in that article.
I hate when they announce games that I want years in advance. I'd rather not even know about it until a few months before it comes out, so I don't have to wait that long.

I figured it was gonna go like this from when I first read about it. It's gonna be a Versus game in every respect, even in how much they sell, I guess.
2 years is fine. There will be plenty of fighting games to keep us busy in the interim (Capcom seems hellbent in insuring that by themselves), and the time will be up before we know it.
