The official Japanese Street Fighter IV blog has revealed that they will be making a statement about a potential new Street Fighter game. The announcement, by way of Natsuki Shiozawa and Yoshinori Ono, promises that something will be said. Granted, they might just end up saying that a sequel won’t be happening at all, but it’s weird that they would hype up an announcement about no announcement. As Andriasang points out, Tokyo Game Show is next week and we may hear something about whatever this is about then.
In related news, more info on Street Fighter IV Dash was potentially leaked on SRK. The thread with the details was completely deleted, but a SF fan site managed to catch all the info. If Dash is real and if this source is to be believed, than Dash could see a total of ten new characters. Eight of which will be from SF II, SF 3 and Alpha, plus two completely new characters. If you think about it, this news post has no real solid information as everything is up in the air! Yay!
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
More SFIV characters? Yeah, its the logical step to expanding on an already awesome game. Capcom will have me excited all over again. Whether via DLC or physical (preferably the latter), I'd certainly buy SF again.
... into ULTRA OHHHHHHH
... bravo!
I see a 2nd Impact/3rd Strike formula a'brewing...
I have to say that if this is real, the characters alone would be enough to get me playing again. I just hope they can tweak the core game enough to keep me playing!
And yeah, KOF XII is taught... like a tiger.
It won't be DLC -
8-10 new chars, gameplay tweaks, new music and stages...a little much for a DLC package, don't you think? Be realistic.
...oh well I guess reigniting the entire genre and being the most popular and successful fighting game this generation gets you that.
Seriously tho, fucking deal with it.
shut the fuck up already.
More speed settings I can agree with, along with the return of some bonus stages, to break things up a bit (great fun in two player mode). I'd love to see Karin, Ibuki and Makoto be included. Guy, Cody, Dudley and Adon are also welcome. Dee Jay and T Hawk I'm not too keen one at all (T Hawk sucks).
Nothing wrong with selling more SF now, and its not going to be like the SNES days, where it was Capcom's main IP to sell. We've still got Lost Planet 2, Dead Rising 2 and Dark Void to come from them yet. Don't worry, I'm sure Capcom will go that extra mile for us, and a physical product is aways better (as well as free swag).
T.Hawk is the shit, stfu! :)
If this is true(I only give a shit about T.Hawk, really) then I just jazzed in mah pants.
I, much like other newbs hating on him, hated T.Hawk until I actually started playing him in HDRemix where he became my main. Excellent news indeed!
I was never one for moves, that eat half an energy bar, making fights last for seconds. I prefer a stand up fight, played at high speed with plenty of punches and kicks. This is why I love SFA2, because speed setting are awesome, something SFIV needs.
Also, when I first saw that picture, I swear I thought it was a MadTV reunion or something. Seriously, there are people there who look a fair bit like Ike Barinholtz, Bobby Lee, and Jordan Peele.
I mean, he wasn't wrong about any of them. The only one he didn't mention was Guy, but he didnt label any characters that aren't on that list.
He was telling me that a "friend" got some pictures, and actually saw gameplay of Adon.
Damn... wish I would've noticed this before.
