Massive savings can be found at GameStop from now until August 2 both in store and online. A big group of games, including the console versions of Street Fighter IV, have been given a temporary price drop and are now only $19.99:
- Animal Crossing: City Folk (Game Only)
- Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
- Excitebots: Trick Racing (Game Only)
- F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
- Lair
- MadWorld
- Mario & Sonic at Olympic Games
- Silent Hill: Homecoming
- Wanted: Weapons of Fate
- Wario Land: Shake It
- Wii Music
It's crazy to think that I haven't played most of these games, and I cannot tell you how hard it is not to give in and spend a hundred bucks right now. For now, the plan is to get MadWorld. What about the rest of you? Which of these games are all of a sudden worth playing now that they have become so inexpensive?
[Thanks, SilverDragon1979!]

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Thanks for the cocktease, DToid!
The rest are decent though. Might pick up F.E.A.R. 2.
Guess I'll pick it up now.
I hate effing limited time deals...it's like if you can afford to sell the shit for the low price then just sell the shit for a low price >_<
The only game on that list that looks interesting and that I don't have is FEAR 2, but I dunno. I've alrady got a big enough backlog, and I didn't particularly like the first one(I'm not a fan of FPS games). So we'll see.
I've already gone out and picked up my copy of SF4 and Madworld for $20.
As a survival horror game, maybe, but as a Silent Hill game it is pretty darn awful. While the new combat system is decent, and I REALLY liked a lot of the enemies, it just wasn't as psychologically scary (or deep) as other Silent Hills. Silent Hill 2 got me thinking and Silent Hill 3 gave me nightmares for weeks, but this last one seemed to just cookie-cutter the previous games. Oh, and Nightmare world looked like they just put a photoshop filter over the world and went from there.
It wasn't bad, I mean I beat it, but I wouldn't pay more than $10 for it. It's short, too, so you really would do better just renting the thing. :P
Here's hoping the next Silent Hill game goes back to the original developers.
Also, the new Silent Hill is absolutely worth $20. Don't listen to the haters
Excitebots could be worth it, but I don't really have any spare cash to spend on games at the moment.
Fear 2 for 20 bucks is a sweet deal
