Nice! The official Street Fighter IV FightStick controller for the PlayStation 3 is on sale at Buy.com today.
Maybe you were on the fence. Maybe you're a casual player that didn't want to drop the list price on a stick you wouldn't use that much. Maybe you just need another one. Buy.com has a 57% off sale on the PS3 stick, making it only $29.99. Oh, and free shipping.
For some reason, the Xbox 360 version is $5 more. Still a good deal, though. Also, the Tournament Edition is at a decent discount: $112 for the Xbox 360 version.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
The worst part? I don't even own any fighting games for my 360. Waiting for SSF4 / Blazblue Continuum Shift.
Worst worst part? I suck at fighters.
I think this one is kinda shitty but if you are savvy enough you can order sanwa (arcade quality) buttons and joysticks from the various places that sell them online and mod the stick with better, more responsive parts.
If you've never used a joystick or don't use it often, I'm sure it will work fine but its not the best. I'm no joystick pro but I was in the same boat around the time of SF4s release. I skipped over the lower end ones and got a Hori Real Arcade Pro Ex based on some feedback online and ended up ordering custom sanwa buttons for it. It's a great stick (the hori that is).
I have a backwards compatible PS3 (got it used) so the PS3 Fightsticks are able to work with all my PS2 fighting games.
If I didn't already buy the Hori sticks (whose price was less than 60 for a pair when I bought them on buy.com for PS3) I would be buying the MadCatz sticks today.

So, meh. Plus, I already got that Tekken 6 stick, and I rarely ever use it anyway. Just can't stand those 'ball-on-a-stick' joysticks. I was raised on the bat-type sticks, and I'll live the rest of my life on 'em too.
Not sure why the 360 versions of sticks are always pricier. Maybe because they work with PCs as well. :\
This is definitely a great starter stick. The build quality is a lot better than they used to be (they actually fixed that loose washer problem that I wrote about in my blog, at least from what I saw when I modded one earlier this week for a friend), but as Vatoloko has said, the parts are upgradable so if anything goes wrong with it, its as easy as opening it up, pulling out a wire and a button and replacing the part and reconnecting it again.
Anyway, if you really want a stick, most gamestops still have them.
It will cost you $70 though.
and another pro tip, get sanwa parts for it. another $50 and you have an awesome fighting stick, no need to pay for the TE katz one.
Or, if you dont feel like dropping that much, I've NEVER had aproblem with the Hori sticks. I have a hori for the 360 and the wii, and they are smooth and sexy, although you can tell the diference when going from a hori to sanwa.
