Street Fighter IV benchmark tool released, test your might photo

Four hundred megabytes is the only thing that stands between you and the knowledge that your PC can handle Capcom’s Street Fighter IV. A benchmark tool for the game has been released and is currently being mirrored at this location and this location, according to EventHubs. Nice.

Because I’m a Mac dude, I think all PC requirements are bananas -- it’s my default setting. However, it looks as though the minimum requirements for the game aren’t as ridiculous as I initially thought: one GB RAM, 10 GB of HDD space, an Intel Pentium 4 2.0 GHz processor or higher, and a recent video card are all you need.

Street Fighter IV PC ships in Europe July 3, and North America July 7. People who bump into me in matchmaking will be mercilessly crushed by my Zangief. Sorry in advance.

I don't really game too much on my pc as of late(due a lot to DRM) and am mostly doing console gaming, but it really shouldn't matter whether you are mac or pc to understand why requirements are necessary- most tech and gamer ppl are like me- I haven't bought a pre-made system for a good 10 years- -I build them all myself- so there is no "PC standard" especially for ppl like us.

10 gigs of hard drive space? That does seem excessive, actually.

@Sentry

Blame the PS3 for making it acceptable to have games larger than a dual-layer DVD :)

Not too shabby. Basically the same score as the others, with everything maxed out on 1920x1080.

Game looks pretty good playing in HD on a halfway decent rig:

Optimaximal - Oh, I don't care to blame anything or anyone. I'm just accustomed to PC installs being much smaller than 10 gigs worth of space. Really, my comment is more a measure of my ignorance regarding console software as I really have NO idea how large a fighting game SHOULD be.

Ha ha, you make it sound like the game can play with consoles and is actually worthwhile.

I recorded a 720p version of the benchmark yesterday, and even with FRAPS running, and the settings maxed, it didn't drop a beat.
