Street Fighter II, rated "T" for Teen!

Once again, a game has been confirmed for the Virtual Console, using the ESRB website for reference. This time it's Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, and if there's one non-N64 game on there I'd be willing to spend my limited finances on, this would be it.

There's just something to be said about playing one of the best Street Fighter games ever, using something that resembles an oldschool D-pad controller.

Before anyone asks, there's a 99.9% chance that it's the SNES version, not the arcade version. Just stating it in case anyone's curious.

anyone play the neogeo ripoff "World Heroes Jet"? that is just about the worst game I have ever played. and that's just for the racism.

is anyone else kinda put off that its the world heroes version? if i recall, that is the first incarnation... slow, clunky, not many playable characters and you have to put in the damned capcom code to play as the same character in 2player.

couldnt they do sf2:turbo at least?

I would much rather have Turbo.

I actually haven't played World Warrior since Turbo was released. I just can't go back to the slower gameplay, fewer characters and less refined gameplay.

World Warrior is almost cute to me now - I was obsessed with the arcade game, loved it on snes, but when Turbo came out I never looked back. It's kinda like thinking of your very first girlfriend.

Sadly, World Warrior WAS my very first girlfriend. I have yet to obtain another.

I loved the NES version of this game. I bought an import of it months before it was released in the states for something stupid like $90. I played it to death. It was great.

But it's 2006 and eight dollars for a game that's not enhanced in anyway whatsoever (no internet play, nothing) can eat it. It's not even the Turbo version, which was clearly superior in every which way. Screw this crap.

Bring on the exclusives already. Where the hell is Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Yoshi's Island, even wild s--t like Uniracers would do it for me. God damn it. I've had (a broken) version of SFII on my 360 for months now. Who needs this crap?

That said -- don't other territories have this game already?

Turbo FTW. Super was alright, but for some reason I liked the sound from Turbo better, and Super's announcer was annoying.

I prefer World Warrior. Or uh, Tournament Edition, which I think was identical except you could both play the same character without putting in the down-R-up-L-Y-B code.

I can't believe none of you guys still own the original cartridges. Screw the Virtual Console... I've got my NES and SNES here with about 35 games.

Doesn't the 360 have online multiplayer for a few pence more?

Oh yes it does.

Enhance your VC games Nintendo!

Winston Churchill...was it fixed? Cause last I heard was the the 360 online multiplayer didn't keep you connected, like disconnected during every match.

Er... you're screwing up my pithy remark!

Last time I played it (about a month ago), it worked fine, although the controls were still distressingly poor. I'd much prefer to play it on the VC, but Nintendo are just fucking everyone over.

I still have my SNES anyway.
