Quantcast

Like frightened doves released from captivity onto a movie set, the promised Stranglehold downloadable map pack should be available now for the Xbox 360.

The pack contains 10 additional multiplayer maps, which range from the Kowloon Market to the Rooftops of Chicago. Additionally, 21 multiplayer character skins are included. Achievement junkies who might have put the game back on the shelf months ago might want to pop it in and pick up the expansion -- it includes 10 new achievements, for a total of 250 additional achievement points.

The map pack (which will also be available for the PlayStation 3 soon) costs 1200 MS points ($14.99).

10 maps, 21 skins, and 10 achievements doesn't sound that bad for DLC.

That price point needs to drop though.

Good thing I don't own Strangehold.

That price is a little bit intense.

How many maps and skins did the game have before? Is this another case of a game coming out with almost no maps so they can rush it to market and charge for them later?

I, like everyone else, rented this game (my copy didn't work so I had to get another game).

10 maps, a slew of skins, and new achievements seems worth 15 bucks if you're into Stranglehold's multiplayer. Wasn't Halo 2's Multiplayer Map Pack a bit more for half the maps and nothing else?

@dv8withn8:

It might have been worth the price is this was a majorly popular game that people wanted this content for. Most of them are probably just single player conversions anyway. The problem with this is that it breaks apart the community and if the community isn't huge then you may find a large amount of people drop out when a server changes to maps that you have to pay for. In games like Halo/CoD4 with so many people playing, this generally isn't much of an issue. But I think it's an even bigger problem for a game like this.

Ohh. I just traded this game in about 5 days ago. they gave me 14 dollars. Luckily I put that towards SKATE.

The single player was fun in Stranglehold. Multiplayer, not so much.

21 skins??

minus 17

=

4 skins..

mmmmmm, delicious!

Stranglehold's multi was DOA when the game was new, with Halo 3 and CoD out, you'll be lucky to find any games for this. Totally pointless release.

Damn, in order for someone to play Stranglehold, they would have to NOT be playing Halo 3, Team Fortress 2, or the big dog Call of Duty 4.

Expansion pack is fail, with the intense price doubly so.

I got this and haven't played it yet. My eight year loves it!!

That and I got the special edition for the PS3 with the Hardboiled movie in the game.

Not a bad game really. Just don't expect too much. It's a barely above average shooter. I can see this being a Bargain Bin Laden choice when the price eventually goes down.

This was a solid game, multiplayer wasn't anything to write home about though.

Those are a lot of maps, I wonder if it's a super small download, just unlocking stuff already on the disc? (Like the thieves that put out Beautiful Katamari)
