Exciting news for fans of dual gun wielding, room trashing, and white doves -- Midway have announced that they will be releasing a demo for Stranglehold on Xbox Live and the PC early August.
In case you don't have a calendar in front of you, August starts next Wednesday. That is the day when everyone can start whining, "Where's the Strangehold demo? Midway said they were releasing a Stranlehold demo!" The PC and Xbox 360 versions of the full game will be shipping on August 27. There's bad news for PlayStation 3 owners, though -- they'll have to wait until September 17. For anyone who owns both a PS3 and Xbox 360, and really wants to pick up Stranglehold, this is disappointing news. The collector's edition of the the PS3 game will ship with a remastered, HD version of the classic action film, Hard Boiled. The Xbox 360 collector's edition will ship with tears and stolen dreams.

It really, REALLY sucks that us, 360 owners get screwed over and not even get the DVD version of Hard Boiled. I could watch that movie even if Chow Yun Fat shot me in the face 367 times in a row.
PStripple is the way to go if you want this game
Looks kinda like Red Steel.
tron knotts:whithout the suckking
The PS3 comes with an HD version of the movie? Or do you mean Blue-Ray?
Who cares if this comes with a movie or not? I don`t buy games to watch movies I buy MOVIES to watch movies!!
360 version will have achievements therefore the 360 version will be superior.
@Distrato: eh? Its July... The games out August....
This is the first multiplatform game I'm considering getting on the PS3 instead of 360 because of the HD movie.
C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon baby
C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon up
C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon baby
C'mon, c'mon, c'mon
I got my Dragon Dynasty 2-disc set and my Criterion Hard Boiled, I'm fine with watching that on my Regular-Ass DVD setup. Gondor has no PS3. Gondor needs no PS3.

Forgot to BBCode. whatever!
Achievements are for the win.
They make all of my games that much more fun. I've noticed that not many people appreciate having little (sometimes not so little) goals to shoot for to make their games last longer.
The 360 version of any game that has a 360 version will always be superior in my eyes for this reason.
I wonder how long until PS3 has a achievements system. Isn't "home" going have an achievements=esque trophy system.
@ linuxguy- I am in no way convinced that this game will be better than Red Steel. And Red Steel was pretty sucky.
so is the stranglehold demo up yet?
how about now
@ ArrestedDeveloper
Feel the exact same way bout deciding on Multiformat...I get the feeling ill get the PS3 version too...Score one for the Sony's marketing team.
Achievements > packed in movie for an extra 10$
This is the start of one of the differences between HD DVD & BRD, BRD games can come with the movie in HD as a bonus or backwards.
yes Tron Knotts, once home is fully launched all games that are marked in home will basically a achievements where not only you get to see the score, but you will see it a giant 3D monitor in the virtual environment. for people who care about it, its a option and its free.
To me its a meh, but 360 owners make it sound like all 360 games will be superior because of this lol, too bad they dont know home will carry it + display real video replay on 3D monitors (players actually winning races in racing games for example).
Now if you guys say home sucks, and you love achievements your pretty much contradicting your self of fanboyism.
It's about time we got a new Max Payne. Funny to see it come full circle, since Max Payne was originally just a film noir homage to John Woo movies.
