Before we hopped on our Dolphin (Chad) to make our way back to Miami, Niero signed a multi-million dollar picture deal with Bacalao, which, in case you've missed last night, you can view the Cuban sensation right now! Our adventure wasn't over yet, though. Chad somehow sprouted magical Dolphin wings and flew us to Nevada -- Reno to be exact. There we met with my old buddy Storm Dain! Storm and I go way back, and he's become quite a name on the Youtubes and Internets. After doing dirty things with my mouth and right ear-lobe, Niero smiled and gave Storm a syndication deal with Destructoid. Storm's Adventures is our second newest Destructoid series, everybody! (cue Return of the Jedi celebration ending music)
Is Destructoid trying to become The Escapist? Video Syndication deals, more video reviews...I'm not necessarily against it (though I didn't like either video personally). Is this really the website that is equipped to support video content? Especially on a site that seems to pad it's page views by making users click on a story or article to see the video "after the jump" when they could easily be posted on the front page. I guess I just don't understand how e-commerce works, but isn't Destructoid a gaming blog so it can be cheaper to produce, without shelling money out to compete with other sites video offerings? I guess it's never seemed like Destructoid's forte...But, heck no it all, I happily await this site to prove me wrong and bring on the compelling video content.
Pssh, videos are entertaining. Its not like they are writing less, Droll. And I honestly doubt they are paying (or paying enough) to anyone for these videos.
Just enjoy and don't worry about the inner workings.
Videos are the future. We're trying to have more video content and that in no way will hurt editorial content. Future is video and advertisers prefer videos to promote their crap products.
Like our editorial team and c-blogs, Dtoid is committing to bring out buckets of new original content from the gaming community at large. As a blog a lot of people think all we do is "republish press releases" when we do so much original work. So that's a goal we work to stomp out.
Plus, Storm is awesome. Look for some E3 stuff from him, too!
Thought the length and depth were fine (wait, double entandre much?).
Although the delivery seems a little too much like a straight up blend of Crowshaw and Rolfe. Keep'm coming and I'm sure a more distinct manner will emerge.
What are you using for video capture of the gameplay?
One thing that bugs me is that Storm blames Sonic Team for the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed. It was Dimps, the same guys behind the Sonic: Rush series on the DS, that was responsible for most of the choices on the Wii version. But then he talked about the PS3 version and I felt a little better.
Storm is a very interesting bloke, he amuses me, he breaks stuff and his voice isn't grating. I look forward to seeing more stuff with this man.
It was funny at times, though since the games are all kinda old, it was a lot of repeated arguments, but it works. I think this would be better with upcoming, or very recent releases instead.
Anyway, if you're trying to produce "new original video gaming-related content" Butmac should be on this!
Dude I know you don't like feedback, being bossed around by kids, and requests so can you just keep makin vids. if the coments are so bad, dont even read them!
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
CONGRATS DAWG!
Also, welcome to Dtoid!
Look forward to seeing future videos!
He has tons of this kind of stuff on his youtube channel.
I like it.
Just enjoy and don't worry about the inner workings.
I like both videos so far, Rey.
Congrats by the way.

Very good, I'd like to see another. :OD
Somebody let him know that the PS3 and 360 are not "next gen" though, please.
