But the concept was enticing so I waited for the PC version but didn't pre-purchase because I wanted to wait for reviews. Well, sadly, not pre-purchasing it seemed to be the smart choice...
Everything just points to a lazy 1:1 port from Xbox to PC which is a damn shame. I really hope these issues will get fixed, especially the framerate lock and mouse controls.
In a summary, both the controls and framerate were locked. 30fps all the way is bad enough but not being able to change the control scheme?
The thing is, why do companies do this?
Shut up troll, we like our PC's because we can afford to buy things without our mommy's help.
Now GTFO troll.
You're right that sometimes PC gamers get horribly shoddy ports due to developers being lazy. Absolutely right.
HOWEVER, when a PC game is done properly (either ported well or designed specifically for PC), it's pretty damn staggering. Gears of War 1 on PC is vastly better than the Xbox 360 version, if for no other reason than the entire extra Act of gameplay. Same idea goes for games like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Crysis, etc.
Not only did they refund my money... I ENDED UP GETTING TO KEEP PORTAL 2 AND THE GIFT COPY! Basically I got portal 2 for free, the only thing I lost out on was my pre-order pin for TF2 and fuck it, I don't even like hats anyway.
@JimmyX: From what Forsakeeyes said the 360 isn't really any better.
Seriously, I hate framerate issue's on consoles.
'Ubisoft has authorized Valve'
@DasPooch
Not at all, I can't tell you the last time I even bought a Ubisoft game. It's just that people want to selectively read something and continue seeing people give handjobs to Valve on this site is a bit annoying.
oh and i thought the PC had the best controls around? how can it be screwed up? and bugs? dear god no.
Either way, as much as people are so ready to shit on a developer and publishers as soon as they can find reasons to, credit should be given where credit is do. So, as far as I know, Ubisoft fucked up big time and for once is acknowledging it to the extent of offering refunds for the product. When they don't have to and other publishers/developers would have just given a few patches and have been done with it.
We should at least commend publishers/developers for doing something like this as much as we yell at 'them' for doing something awful.
A lazy developer does a terrible job of porting a game to the PC with zero effort and poorly implements the control scheme, which is PROOF THAT PC GAMING HAS BAD CONTROLS LOL
0/10
I agree. So I would like to say thanks to Ubisoft for acknowledging their incompetence in the PC market and the sheer stupidity involved with the production of this port. I appreciate the fact that they are willing to not be total cockfaces and give people their money back. And I only ask that they never allow such bullshit to happen again or else continue to eat a fat one. So, thank you, Ubisoft... and fuck off.
how is that troll logic? and when did i say it was fact or proof? i asked a question. it wasnt a statement.
A lazy developer does a terrible job of porting a game to the PS3 with zero effort and poorly implements the control scheme.
see i can do it too. now wheres my refunds?
And if your console game is a bad port and you want a refund, take it back to the store with your receipt and get a refund.
When people ask "what has Steam done to win such blind loyalty" I can gladly use my eyes and point to things like this.
