Anyone who passed on Aliens vs. Predator -- there were a number of good reasons to do so, in my opinion -- might want to take a second look at Rebellion's latest. Throughout this weekend, Steam is offering the first-person shooter for $33.49 (regularly $49.99 for the PC version).
At that price, it should be significantly easier to justify. That said, I can easily picture future sales that will drop Aliens vs. Predator to far lower prices. Likewise, it might be better to wait it out, hoping that some of the more broken aspects of the game get patched.
Then again, it's not very often we get a game about Xenomorphs, Predators, or in this case, both. To quote my old psych professor, "suck it up, cupcake!"
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Yeah, sucks.
OT: Worth it for the Marine and Alien campaigns if you ask me.
Multiplayer is a bit of a mixed bag. Some modes are never played from what I've seen. I never see a server for mixed species deathmatch, or species deathmatch. It's always Infestation, team deathmatch and deathmatch.
Infestation is pretty cool until there are an equal amount of aliens to marines, at which point the match spirals downward as it becomes a spam fest of aliens just constantly running in, clicking wildly while mashing the "Interact" key. No tactics, no fun, just spamming.
The spawning in Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, in an apparent attempt to utilize the whole map, has you spawning in COMPLETELY random segments of the level. This means you could be a Marine spawned in the same room as 2 aliens and a predator from the opposing team.
If you want to play multiplayer, choose matches with a low number of players, I find this is when I have the most fun. It's most definitely worth $30 bucks.
But I had to laugh when I saw that they were charging for the map packs on PC. That's pretty lame.
