Steam gets Aliens vs. Predator Classic, cheap DiRT 2 photo

Is it unusual to carry around a list of PC games you want to appear on Steam? It is? Well that's good, because I totally don't. But if I did, you can bet Aliens vs. Predator (the old one) would be on it. The same could easily be said of Jim, although literally his entire list would be AVP over and over again.

The version of the game that's now available on Steam for $4.99, Aliens vs. Predator Classic 2000, doesn't "currently" have functional multiplayer. On the bright side, it's been updated to support the Xbox 360 controller and should work well on newer PCs using the power of DirectX 9.0c.

While we're on the subject, I should also point out that DiRT 2 just went on sale. It's temporarily being offered at half price ($19.99), and you are obligated to buy this phenomenal off-road racer if your PC can run it properly. And if it can't, then you ought to go get the console version instead. It really is that good.

Jordan, you do realise there's a thread on the forums for our wishlist of games to appear on Steam, right?

Why would anyone want to play this with a controller? o_O

Hmmm, I didn't actually mean my reply to come out as so elitest. I guess adding the functionality gives people another option, and more options is good. I've always used a keyboard and mouse so it's hard for me seeing how shooters work on a controller with out just being clumsy. No offense meant to anyone.

I think the game holds up surprisingly well other than the MASSIVE UI. I hope I can google a fix for that.

The mouse sensitivity is also weird but some menu action fixed that right up.

This game is awesome solely for the French marine on the TV monitors. That guy was so unintentionally hilarious in a game that was relentlessly terrifying.

It sounds like they've decided to make it dirt cheap.

...I'll show myself the door.

The multiplayer is gonna be patched in at a later date so don't let the "no multi" dissuade you from buying.

I'd love to buy DiRT 2 if I had anything that could run it and do it justice.

The prospect of AVP multiplayer in the future is very enticing.
