Start your Makos: Mass Effect two-disc set coming in February photo

According to a GameStop listing (via VG247), BioWare is releasing a special Xbox 360 two-disc edition of their sci-fi RPG Mass Effect. It is slated for a February 10 release for twenty bucks.

The first disc contains the game in all its glory. The second disc has a documentary video, as well as trailers, music, an art gallery and the Bring Down the Sky downloadable content.

Mass Effect originally debuted in 2007. The game was put on a pedestal by the gaming press and pummeled by the mainstream press for promoting toad violence* and having sexually explicit scenes.

* I made that up, but my Wrex got what was coming to him. Screw that guy.

YES! I was just thinking about finally picking up Mass Effect, but now that this is being released, I'll just wait and nab it.

$20? That's a god damn steal! Too bad I already own it...

The game was pretty awesome, but uh I don't get why they're re-releasing it. Bringing Down The Sky was pretty horrible, even for DLC. I think I'll play it again just so I can bone me an alien.

Methinks this is to build up more fans of the game for a Mass Effect 2 announcement/release this year.

20 bucks is amazing for just the game. @ Aero, I was thinking the same thing. There is defiantly something a miss.

Hmmm, I always wanted the Collectors Edition of Mass Effect but due to it being online only and not having a credit card at the time I couldnt get it.

I might get this depending on whether or not the packaging is sweet enough.

Lulz, the regular Mass Effect goes for 30 bucks on Steam... I want to get it, so I sure hope they bring the price down.

I'd buy Mass Effect cereal if I could. Tali O's and Garrus T's sounds mighty delicious.

A rental was enough for me, but great game though. Definitely worth $20

I'm getting it (again), but for the PC. It was just too broken for the 360, and I have a gaming PC now. It's still a cool concept though. And charging $20 for it is very Valve-like of Bioware.

I just got it for $20 on the PC, very good lag free port. Excellent in high res and no pop in lol.

Sounds like it's just the collectors edition (which I already own) with the DLC on the disk. I might buy it if they streamlined the coding to load faster or take better advantage of the 360 downloading, or if there was a Mass Effect 2 trailer on it.

P.S. You can get the original Mass Effect at Wal Mart for $20 (saw it tonight), though it did seem like the cover of the game was a photocopy.

Mass Effect 2 please! This time with real, fleshed out cities. I hated the design of the Citadel. Looking out at that Los Angeles-sized metropolis, I ached to go down there and explore. But, no.

And a better inventory system would be fabulous.

@Dimly - No prob
@exodus1925 - I do too. I'm tempted to nab this just for the documentary stuff.

20 is pretty tempting...but knowing my lack of motivation I'll probably watch it come and go.

Great news! I always wanted Mass Effect to be in my game library, but just ended up borrowing my friends copy. Content for price wise, this is an awesome deal for the amount of time I'll be able to get out of it, so I'm grabbing this as soon as I can. :)

Okay, so...it's the Limited Collector's Edition, plus the DLC mission, minus all the special packaging and bonus art books/universe guides. Does that sound about right? If so, I don't have to regret buying the Limited Collector's Edition, but if they're adding stuff in, I'll be disappointed. I'm also betting the extra mission is added in as a download code and is not included on the disc.

a damned good reason to make me want to replay it on my new 360. if you spend 20 bucks a week on coffee can you realy deny this game?

So it's the fourth time this game will be released! Consider the first three releases:
-Mass Effect
-Mass Effect: Jade Empire (an oriental prequel set on Earth)
-Mass Effect: KOTOR (Situated a galaxy far far away and occurring a long time ago)

And now, Mass Effect: Double Dipping!

Awesome...I finally decided to buy the game 2 weeks ago, and then this is released. I both love and hate re-releases, for that very reason.
