If I recall correctly, there are no global keys. Sure you may be able to log in and play from any region, but the MP region you can access will always be limited.
Are there problems? Sure. The story is SHIT. The single player campaign takes too long to get beyond "tutorial"-esque missions. The single player only has Terran missions, with some notable Protoss exceptions. There's no LAN.
Also, if you don't like classic RTSs, then you won't like this. It's not innovative or new. It plays mostly like how Starcraft did, only with a thousand little UI improvements, a new set of units and capabilities, and a prettier engine. However, if it wasn't "cool" to hate Blizzard right now, an improved and updated Starcraft 1 would be more than enough for most people to swoon.
Whatever.
I'll be the first to admit that there are problems with the game--namely, the crowd that the game attracts sometimes makes me want to slit my wrists. It's a spoiled, bratty bunch of players that hang around reddit and seem to have no other motive in life than to be dicks online and whine about stuff. Naturally, the entire community isn't like this, but it's sometimes hard to tell.
Secondly, Blizzard's philosophy about game balance and its tendency to overpatch is distressing. Instead of letting the game mellow and letting the competitive community adapt to and take advantage of the game engine, Blizzard insists on patching every single thing that doesn't agree with their glorified sense of balance.
But if you can manage to overlook those two issues, you'll be left with a very solid RTS game with a great deal of depth, that emphasizes thinking and strategy over hair trigger mechanics, level grinding, or other mechanics. It's not quite the gem that Starcraft 1 was, competitively speaking, but it's very close, and that's probably the biggest compliment you could give to any RTS game.

That aside, yeah, you guys pretty much summed up my complaints. Shit story, over patched, terran only campaign, no lan, always online, marines always win, and player base is mostly hardcore and snotty.
But I guess playing tower defense non rts games IS kinda fun, but I mean... It's not what o got the game for. But with that considered, I would wait until it goes down to 10-15 dollars because that's about what it's worth.
I'm in it for the map editor. I became VERY adept at Warcraft 3's map editor all in an attempt to prepare myself for this. Starcraft 2 is my modding dream come true, the single player, though? Shit I just cheat my way through that just to get a feel for the units and see which ones would look coolest in certain scenarios.

Great singleplayer campaign (even including the flaws), great multiplayer, great modding....
Sure, if your connection sucks or you depend on LAN or you dislike classic RTS, then it's not worth the purchase. Otherwise, worth it at 60, and definitely worth it under 60.
I'll tell my Korean girlfriend it's her fault I bought it because she lives so damn far away.
Anyway, SC2 was okay. It did not re-invent the wheel or anything, but it did not completely fizzle. It just did, you know? Still I am surprised this long after they would still be charging as much as they are for what really amounts to an okay game.
$15 or 15 euro's or it never will be a buy for me. I totally disagree with how blizzard-activision prices everything.

Blizzard's games (even before the Activision merger) have always taken a ridiculous amount of time to go down in price (which a lot of people are choosing not to remember I see), and usually they only go down because there's a battlechest involved. So this is actually a pretty odd occurrence, seeing how there's not battlechest.
