StarCraft II goes 50% off for Black Friday photo

Ever want to get into StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, but never had an excuse to start? Well for Black Friday, Blizzard is selling it for 50% off, bringing it down to a grand total of $29.99 -- pretty cheap in my opinion for an awesome game.

Don't delay in taking advantage of this deal, as it expires November 28th!

For one day it will be the same price as any other regular game!

I'm going to cut to the point: This games been out over a year and should be much cheaper when its "on sale" by now.

I know this just happens to be the way Blizzard games work out, kind of like Nintendo (but they actually GO DOWN EVENTUALLY) but.. yeah.. I don't think SC2 is all that great that it needs to be sitting at the $60 asking price this long. And considering this game is one part of a greater -yet to be released- whole.. Yeah.. still not seeing the value there a year later, even as a game that'll give you hours and hours of great gameplay.

If I were a gift giver, or just looking for this for myself, I'd find a deal elsewhere that -might- be cheaper, cause this is kind of a rip-off.

Blizzard puts a great game on sale and people are complaining in the first post, one of these days I'm going to stop being surprised by this kind of activity.

Blizzard games are usually supported for a decade.

The premium is worth it and completely justified given that support. I remember going from middle school to college and being surprised D2 was still supported. Blizzard is one of the only companies in the world that truly justifies that price tag.

It's probably the same price as it was when it released because SC2 is pretty much singlehandedly pushing eSports into the mainstream media. I've heard rumors that ESPN is conducting focus groups to see how it might fare in actual broadcasting. That'd be a huge move in popular culture for gaming, and I am pretty sure Blizzard sees it as a profit margin driving opportunity.

@bukuma - this is the gamer market for you. they could deliver a bus full of super models to their houses to give em blowjobs, and they'd find something to complain about. it's the most ungrateful market on the planet.

A bus full of super models, you say? Giving free blowies? First person to complain will earn their serving super model a swift kick in the chin. I swear to jimminy christ.

Eh, I'm just not that interested in the game. The RTS genre just doesn't do anything for me, though. They would have to drop it way into Steam Sale pricing territory for me to bite.

Blizzard has its own Reality Distortion Field (RDF) similar to Apple's. Hype is built during Blizzcon (vis-a-vis: Apple Event). Add to that the fact they own Korea!

Don't get me wrong... I like their IPs but the games are overpriced.

At least I can count on Destructoid to present the facts. Kotaku tried to get more hits by saying it was "Heart of the storm" that was going $29.99 for this weekend only.

To all the people saying that complaining about the price of a game is ungrateful: shut the fuck up, this is not a gift, we can be grateful about something we haven't been given. If we start being grateful about a game existing at all then they'll charge us whatever the fuck they like, £40 is already was too much.

Meanwhile, Portal 2 is $30 normally and I think dropped to 10 or 15 recently, and it was released more than half a year after SC2. NO THANK YOU.

My little bro STILL plays D2. As in, he just played it yesterday.

Other than Valve, no other company in the industry can truly claim that kind of dedication!
