I kind of feel the same way. I mean, I'll give TOR a shot, after all, all my friends will be playing it, but I just can't get excited about it. MMO's aren't my thing, I prefer single-player RPG experiences. They claim there's supposed to be a fairly robust solo experience in the game, though, so I'm hoping they'll surprise me.
It's like if WoW was a hamburger, and then someone came along and put cheese on that mofo, and now it's a cheeseburger, that's SW:TOR. If you didn't like the hamburger in the first place, you won't like the cheeseburger either, but if you're looking for something similar but new, you will like it.
Agreed. Though I've played MMO's previously, I've just had enough of them for a while. I might try it someday, but I already have plenty of games to play this Fall. Adding MMO to the equation just takes away from the immersion, in this instance, I have high doubts it'll feel anything like KOTOR1/2.
If you don't mind blasting thru all the lore and content just to max out and do group-based endgame and battlegrounds, more power to you, but you are not everyone.
If people continue sucking, I might just be better off just firing up KOTOR again.
The funniest thing is that in this quote, I only see one game that's a new IP. And the rest have very minimal changes. Yet we are all complaining about how this is a fresh coat of paint over an old concept.
Irony.
