So it wasn't Battlefront III or Star Wars Legends that was the big Star Wars reveal at the Spike Video Game Awards. Instead, it was Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II. Surprised?
The trailer, as trailers go, looks nice but reveals little. What we do know is that you'll once again take control of Starkiller, Darth Vader's apprentice. But from what we hear in the trailer, it seems you may have choice -- along with Vader's voice, we also hear Yoda giving sage words of advice.
How this will all play into the gameplay of The Force Unleashed II remains to be seen. The game is set for release next year.
Other than the wonky controls on the Star Destroyer part, I loved Force Unleashed. I can't wait to play through another FU game, lol. I felt like such a badass during the first.
NO! FUCK! Lucus Arts always ALWAYS manages to fk up there games to no end. When was the last time they released a good game? The first one will god own in history as the most disappointing game release to date (imo) I really hope Lucus arts has gotten there act together and will actually make this game good. But knowing them i highly doubt it.
I had a lot of fun with the first one (despite some serious control issues) and can't wait to see how they deal with a sequel. Here's hoping they learned some good lessons on the first one and make the sequel insanely badass.
I'm wondering how they're going to continue the storyline. One ending had him die, the other had him turned into a Vaderesque cyborg, and this doesn't match with either one. Not that I'm complaining, just curious to see how they'll make everything line up.
I saw this coming, but I'm wondering how the hell they'll make it fit without taking a piss on the first game's (fantastic) storyline. I loved the first game enough to not want to see it get shat on in the name of commercial profit. Also, the controls need to get better. And they better keep the whole new costume every level thing. I dug that.
The whole problem I had with the first game and this game's story is that it's all going to be giant retcons -- Darth Vader secretly started the Rebellion? I mean it was great they had a cameo of Garm Bel Iblis and such, but they need to set these types of games in different time periods. There's only so much stuff that can fit in between the movies.
Puszled how they can make a sequel. I liked the premise that the concept behind the Rebellion was a trap to keep one from getting started, but for that to stay solid, Starkiller has to stay dead.
Kind of puzzled about a sequel as well. Didn't really have any issues with the first game rather than capping out on abilities way before the end of the game. Oh, that and I found infamous to be a much better 'lightning' and 'push' game than this one. Hope they don't just stick with the same abilities from the first and instead add onto it much more than just being able to wield two lightsabers.
If they can make the lightsaber combat, I don't know, not shitty, then I will buy this game.
Jedi Academy spoiled me with it's extremely innovative melee combat. Not to mention the sweet customization options for your lightsaber with the proper mods.
I will never get tired of Jedi Academy. I beat that game around every 6 months.
I really enjoyed the first one, I like to see them tweak the boss fights, which left a little something to be desired. Otherwise I thought the gameplay was tight and totally bad-ass.
Oh boy, nothing makes me feel like an ultra powerful war machine like being stabbed in the back by a low level pleb while the camera helpfully points to a random tree. Think I'll just reinstall Jedi Academy.
Really enjoyed the first one, and hope to see them improve on this one greatly, but it boggles my mind on how this game can use the same main character that was in the first, especially with what happened in the first game, regardless of what ending you got. Was honestly expecting maybe a new main character, or hopefully for it to resume sometime after episode 6. I'll be playing it either way, but really hope they make the lightsaber feel like that badass weapon you saw in the movies, and not some giant glow stick.
I liked the first game, but I went into it with the expectation that it would be a story and setting piece, not some shoot em up
@ Arianol I love jedi knight too, I would love to see it become a concurrent series rather than a one or the other one- I think that lucas tende to hear the fans and respond when they can- hence the KOTOR era mmo, I wouldn't ever count out katarn from coming back at some point
I liked the first TFU, so looking forward to part 2. Though when you think about it, the story of TFU is irrelevant for the Star Wars Saga. If I remember right, in the bad ending of TFU Darth Vader is killed and replaced by Starkiller. And TFU2 will be a sequel to that ending, right? Hence, the story is irrelevant, because we all know that Vader is alive in Episode 4. Or did I miss something?
