I didn't believe him when he said it was on "low" settings because it looked amazing and I was also surprised at how smooth everything ran with it being an mmo launch.
The gameplay is pretty solid but standard click affairs, I think the combo heavy action of DC has kinda spoiled me but SWTOR's combat is slick and fun, what with the lightsabers and lightning how could it not be. He has a pretty slick razer mouse with all the powers bound to the side so that makes it better also.
Since I don't have a PC capable of running it anyway, I'm not really a potential subscriber even though a lot of my friends will be playing it now, but it definitely makes me miss pc gaming all the more.
Star Wars is cool, dammit.
(Although, the leveling is so great, I'm a bit worried that the endgame will be lacking.)
Yeah... that's how I would feel. It's like asking your friend to play through KOTOR for you. What the fuck is the point? SW:TOR isn't like other MMO's in that it's actually about the journey, not the destination.
It's going to be interesting to see what happens in a month or two when lots of people start hitting level cap. Will players become disenchanted with a game that pulls a bait and switch, or does Bioware have something great up it's sleeve for endgame?
Personally, I foresee a mass exodus.
I definitely want to take SWTOR for a spin. People seem to love it.
Also, this flash mob rules.
