Star Ocean: Second Evolution pushed back

     Star Ocean

Today, Square Enix announced that the PlayStation Portable remake of Star Ocean: The 2nd Story has been delayed. Thankfully, the delay isn’t all that bad – it’s simply a matter of weeks. The new shipping date for Star Ocean: Second Evolution is January 20, a date that will live in infamy.

I’m glad that this title wasn’t pushed too terribly far away. I’ve been itching to explore the planet Expel all over again. This time, Expel and its lineup of characters should look much better. Square Enix aren’t doing a simple port. Second Evolution will sport enhanced graphics, and voice acting.

How many of you are going to get this? I feel two ways about remakes. First, I really want the game to keep the same feel as the original. Second, I require new content that is contextually and cleverly placed. What do you guys think?

I'm definitely going to get it. I bought Star Ocean: First Departure and it's probably the best Remake Job of an RPG that I've seen. So if that means anything about 2nd evolution, it'll be a great remake.

I must say, this is probably my most favorite RPG of all time. This might be the saving grace that causes me to hold onto my PSP...

that's a hefty decision to make right there

I got really far in both SO 1 and 2 back in the day, but I failed to beat either. I'm hoping, once I have some time, to go at the PSP remakes and beat both. Maybe I'd finally be able to force myself to try SO 3, which has been collecting dust ever since I bought it.

No offense, but why is this a picture from the first game?

I see this as a good thing because it gives me time to buy the first one and play through it.

I still might buy and play SO1, but S-E would have to pay ME to get me to play through SO2 again.

I mean, it was ok, but it's not something I would play through again unless it was for cash.

SO2 is one of my favorite games and I'm tempted to buy a PSP just for these remakes. Give me monies plz.
