Standalone Rock Band Track Pack: Classic Rock disc headed to retail photo

While I personally like the "pick and choose" concept of downlodable content for Rock Band, not everyone has an Internet connection. And not every console that Rock Band has found its home on supports DLC.

Harmonix and MTV Games have already released two other physical disc bundles DLC tracks, but there's one more on the way according to an ESRB listing -- Rock Band Track Pack: Classic Rock. As expected the disc will feature classic rock songs including Steve Miller Bands "Take the Money and Run" and "The Joker," and The Dead Kennedy's "Holiday in Cambodia."

The ESRB listing also says that there will be songs that include naughty words like "damn," "ass," and "bitch." With over 500 songs available to play in Rock Band, I'm not about to figure out which tracks those are. Have fun with that.

The pack will likely be priced like the other track packs ($29.99) and will be available for the Wii, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. But really, "Holiday in Cambodia" is classic rock now? God, I feel old.

Well didn't Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables come out in 1980 or so? That's almost 30 years ago. Granted, I wouldn't be lump DK under the "classic rock" category, but eh.

If only they had RB2 instruments in Europe, people wouldn't have to buy shitty GHWT :(

Totally related btw.

Don't these track pack things basically let you load the songs into your main RB game? If so, I think they generally sell at a better value than buying tracks individually, if you actually want and don't have most of the tracks on them.

Well, this sounds pretty good, I guess.

No, Nick. Dead Kennedys isn't Classic Rock. It's punk and shouldn't be there.

When did the DK's become classic rock? I thought that term applied to stuff like Led Zeppelin and Yes, but not Dead Kennedys. Like braulio09 said, Dead Kennedys is Hardcore Punk and shouldn't be on this disc, but whatever. Cool, I guess.

Why stick with a bundle of CDs? Is it so hard to digitally download them? 30 bux for a pack of Cds with a couple or so music tracks that I like out of hundreds, I don't think so.

Everyone thinks a broadband connection is that common everywhere...not so. In fact, with the way the economy is going, dial-up is going to look a lot more popular. So yeah, there is some value to these discs...if it is like ACDC's Track Pack though, it'll have a 'one time' use code to transfer the songs, which means avoid buying this disc used at all cost.
