Standalone DJ Hero turntables now available photo

Activision is now offering standalone DJ Hero controllers for the first time, in case you wanted to mix it up with a friend, multiplayer-style. I don't foresee a ton of people taking this offer up at the current price of $69.99, but it's wise of them to give the option, especially if (more like "when?") DJ Hero 2 is coming.

Personally, and I know many of you are planning on doing the same, I'm waiting for the inevitable post-Christmas price drops to occur. Considering Amazon was selling the full game and controller bundle in the neighborhood of these standalone turntables, it's probably worth waiting it out.

I couldn't really care less about the game.

The soundtrack is where it's at.

Given the sales of this game, I expect to see a $70 game+turntable kit soon. I'll buy it then.

DJ Hero was fun but not $120 fun, especially for broke-ass people like me.

I was going to get this game, and then I realized I could listen to the audio tracks any time and just pretend im sliding knobs and hitting buttons and have almost as much fun, for free

I'd like to jump on that @ChronosWing ,but I have a thing for buying used games not from Gamefly.

But $60 is just the right price for me to get my DJ Z-Trip on.

Wow, that's a really good deal at Gamestop, especially considering none of that money will end up in evil Activion's bank account.

I thought the game looked really dumb at first. But now I'm seriously interested. I can handle waiting till it's cheaper, though.

Well, I'd trust a used turntable to actually work. That was one thing that surprised me about this game. Activision(probably Red Octane really) made a good peripheral on the first try. I usually manage to find whatever fault is in their other instruments but this one has been pretty solid for me. I agree with Perfidious Sinn, this game isn't 120 dollars fun. But it's definitely 60 dollars fun, assuming you like rhythm games.

Shamelessly bought.

My little brother bitches about not being able to play multiplayer all the time. I guess RB has gotten us so used to playing music games together.

Actually, if you want it badly now, get it used. It goes for $60 at Gamestop (or $48 if you're an employee).
