Kid Icarus: Uprising will be bundled with some free AR cards and a special stand for your 3DS. Placing your console on the stand will make it easier to play the game, as you wont have to support the weight of the console with your hands while using the game's stylus-and-circle pad control scheme. Some would say that this is a sign that the Kid Icarus:Uprising's developers needed a crutch, as they weren't able to create a game that could be played optimally with the 3DS's standard design. Others will say that it's pretty cool for Nintendo to pack in a stand for free with every copy of the game, just in case players want the option to try it out.
My thought is that this stand is PROOF that the 3DS is DOOMED (again) and that the redesigned version of the console, now code named the "3DStand Double: Nub Lite (3DStD:NL)" is coming out in 2012, rendering the current 3DS model USELESS FOREVER.
Thanks a lot Nintendo for forcing me to buy a 3DS when it was first released and for not having a stand built into every console from day one. Because of you I wasted money on games that I loved like Super Mario Land 3D, Cave Story 3D, Bit.Trip SAGA, and VVVVVV, and had to endure the pain of playing them all without a stand. Way to make me feel loved, Nintendo [/sarcasm]! If you keep abusing your customers like this, you're going to learn pretty quickly that having the best selling home and handheld consoles in the market for the last 5 years wont get you very far. Without my love, you are nothing.
YOU HEAR ME, NINTENDO!?!? MAKE ME LOVE YOU!!! OTHERWISE YOU ARE NOTHING!!!
North American copies of Kid Icarus: Uprising to include stand as well [GoNintendo]

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Love ya Holmes XD
know what peripheral Nintendo REALLY needs to release? The Wii Vitality Sensor. That thing would fucking revolutionize gaming.
Nintendo and their false promises of happiness. Damn you.
....Am I doing it right?
to be fair, this does sort of present a problem of switching between the stand and the second nub means your going to have to screw on/screw off the nub accessory every time you want to switch games. But the stand isn't required, and there probably won't be a lot of games that use either of the accessories, so it is kind of minor.
...Am I doing it right?
Nintendo is still doomed by the way.
Stealth? Is that you?
Is someone wanting some attention?
Aw the poor kid.
How about we just transmit the news huh?
Much better.
I really think those developers are retard since the best choice would be to make aiming be controled by movement controls.
Fuck that second nub!
Errr, what gave you the impression that the Circle Pad Pro screws onto the 3DS? The system simply slides in and is held snugly by rubberized grips, if I recall correctly. The only thing that screws off is the battery cover (which, as we've been told, will only need to be unscrewed after every 200 hours of use).
Also I hope Jim doesn't blow a gasket when he sees this, he might think you're stealing his schtick.
oh crap. I got them mixed up. Disregard what I said then.
Obviously doomed.
