The Guardian recently spoke with Stan Lee about his involvement with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 -- which, honestly isn't very interesting in and of itself -- but once the conversation became about videogames in general, the comic legend shared his refreshing outlook on the industry.
"If I were young now and I wanted to do stories, I would very much want to get into the videogame business because it's the most exciting. Videogames and movies are the most exciting forms of entertainment," Lee says.
"But a videogame in a way is more imaginative, it has more variety. In a movie you stick to the plotline, in a videogame you go in a million different directions," he explains. "I have no idea how they're able to do that. It's like a miracle."
What a neat concept to think about, if I do say so myself. Now the question is, what company would he work for? I wonder which game studio is the most in line with the way Marvel Comics operates.

Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Disney Interactive?
He had a little voice over bit in MUA2 that was fun.
He's clearly old skool but I'd still love to play anything he wrote. It'll never happen, but still...I can dream.
Good to see more celebs saying good things about games.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Stan Lee tried to bring comic books to the Internet by creating a series of what I can only describe as the equivalent of the motion comics we see on DVD/Blu-Ray these days except with better animation and voice acting and done on Flash. The quality of these comics were a bit iffy (although the one that featured the Backstreet Boys as superheroes was pretty amusing) but I was personally really blown away by the ideas, even if it ended up bombing in the end (partly also due to allegations of financial fraud on his partners).
Or Black Isle/Obsidian.
"Ryan Reynolds a big name...lol"
Laugh all you want but he will be huge in the next couple of years, he came very high in Total Films hot 100 and he's in 2 massive superhero movies next year. So I'll lol at your attempt at smart-assery with no actual smartness.
@CloneTrooper
Hell fucking yeah my friend :)
