Stan Lee gets all excelsior up in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 photo

Known for making cameos in Marvel's films -- oh, and being a comic book legend -- Stan Lee will make his first appearance in a videogame starting with Activision's Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2. Lee, who is the most excited man on the planet, is pumped.

"I am thrilled to be making my first onscreen videogame cameo in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2," he said. "It's such a kick to see characters that I've helped create come to life in the game and now I'm a part of the Marvel videogame universe!"

We'd imagine it's probably a kick collecting the checks, too.

Lee will be lending his voice and likeness to the game, for a role that's "pivotal" to the game's "Civil War-inspired" storyline. What that means is unclear; we'll have to wait until September when Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 ships for every platform imaginable.

I'm actually looking forward to UA2, but never played any of the other Marvel dungeon crawlers. Also, plurals don't need apostrophes.

@Diverse:

That's a woman. Definitely.

Yeah, UA2 does look pretty good.

@TheCleaningGuy:

Thanks, I understand grammar. It's called a typo. Thanks for the heads up, but don't be a jerk.

The first one had to be the repetitive button masher since Diablo. I hope this one has some better merit or else I'll be skippin it

I have the feeling that Stan Lee is beyond the point of having to worry about collecting checks. I think he does what he does purely for the love of his industry.

100% agreed. He just loves his creations, and is proud to be part of them. He deserves it.

@ Nick:
Sorry about that, I've been making really dick-like comments without realizing it lately. I only meant to point out the typo, but I ended up with some holier than thou grammar Nazi bullshit. I apologize.

I fucking love that old man. He's changed and affected so many lives with his work, it's great he's still active in the industry after all these years.

Yay, Stan Lee is from the time when Heroes were Heroes.
This heroes nowadays are all too "human", giving more importance to their personal life than to their heroic alter ego.
You deserve it old man.

Marvel, listen to me; make Stan Lee an unlockable character.

I WANT TO THROW CARS AT GREEN GOBLIN AS STAN THE MAN.

Stan Lee was approached because Larry King was unavailable as a Civil War consultant for the game. I think General Lee was Stan Lee's grandson at the time of the war...
