Stalking made easy with Game Industry Tweet photo

Twitter. Maybe you've heard of it. The social networking and micro-blogging service has been picking up steam as of late, becoming increasingly popular with members of the media and other people who think the universe cares what they have to say.

Take me, for instance; I have a Twitter account. Dtoid has an account, too (but it's not to be confused with Destructoid, which apparently has nothing to do with us). We're not alone, and there's certainly people more important that us who use Twitter, including Newsweek's N'Gai Croal, Microsoft's Major Nelson, PlayStation Blog's Jeff Rubenstein, and more.

In fact, there's too many to list here. So thank goodness for Sam Houston's Game Industry Tweet Web site, which breaks down the industry's Twitter accounts down into four categories -- press, companies, public relations, and communities. So if following bits of people's lives in 140 characters or less sounds like your kind of thing, check out the list, which Houston claims he'll be updating regularly.

The Destructoid Twitter is fantastic.

My favourite excerpts are:

"I'm callin in an airstrike to bust yo party and rock yo body like a wild girl gettin naughty on the block."

"Jesus Christ is alive and well."

"IIIIIIIII AM IIIIIIIII AM IIIIIIII AM IIIIIII AM I AM I AM I AM the king of all nights I am I am."

Oh, and:

"Robin Williams and his wife are getting divorced after 19 years of marriage."

I personally hate Twitter. It's cool if people use it, more powah to them but I prefer randomly stalking people I used to hang out with in high school on MySpace and pretend we're best friends while I constantly keep pressing "refresh" to see if they've updated their info.

I've gone ahead and made a list for the part of the industry I care most about, namely video game music: http://www.vgfrequency.com/larry-oji-presents-video-game-musicians-on-twitter/
