SSX receives free title update with two new modes
Almost six months after its February 2012 release, SSX is hitting the summer slopes with a free title update. The new content boasts two additional gameplay modes, 3-2-1-Go!, a multiplayer race combining points for both tricks and speed, and Freeride, a single player experience that allows open world exploration. Described as the most highly demanded feature from the community, Freeride can be played on any course, removing all competitive aspects for one long smooth trek through the game's vast mountain regions. The update and new game modes are available now for free on both Xbox Live and PSN. If you've yet to purchase SSX, it can now be picked up for $40. Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)although i liked it for a bit, this one didnt have the lasting appeal. i liked the mega mountains of old being able to explore the whole mountain. the death mountain crap was unneeded. stupid goggles, pick axes, solar shit, the wing suit was an neat idea, but kinda defeated the ssx part of it all. not to mention the stupid ghost racing online crap. oh well, so much for innovation. Picked this up for $13... played it once.
Don't plan on playing it a second time, it ruined my fond memories of the originals.. A lot of the level design in SSX was hit or miss. Constantly being thrust into bottomless pits was no fun at all and was the reason I stopped playing! The whole gauntlet aspect and the 'real mountain' approach to the courses kinda ruined the flow that made SSX fun in the first place. Also real multiplayer would have been nice.
But hey, free stuff is always neato I like it, definitely want to try out this free ride mode. It still feels like the older ones to me when the tricky music gets going. I stopped playing when I hit those shitty mountains that require you to be in sunlight came up. Hated that. But I'll probably sink some more time into it now. I got this for $9.99 from Best Buy. It's okay. I like free, so I'll download this. But the SSX franchise is overrated. Played SSX, SSX Tricky, SSX 3, SSX Blur, and now this, yet none of them are the best snowboarding games. I prefer a little more realism. Ubisoft: Release an online multiplayer update for your 2-year old game for $5.

12:00 PM on 05.20.2013 Gran Turismo 6: A peek under the hoodJust a few weeks ago, we were picking over Gran Turismo 6 rumors, and now here we are with our very first preview. I was surprised to walk into a hands-on opportunity just one day after the title was officially announced. Surprised and pleased. It may not have been the PlayStation 4 launch game I was hoping for, but it's never really a bad time for more Gran Turismo.
