I’ll admit that I was turned off by the announcement of Super Street Fighter IV. I suppose I’ve become a bit update-expectant in this age of downloads. But after reading a few previews and listening to Capcom’s Seth Killian speak on the latest episode of 1UP’s “4 Guys 1 Up,” I’ve become convinced that a full disc release is a good thing. New characters like Juri, T-Hawk, and Deejay won’t be the sole additions to this latest SF title -- Capcom is also rebuilding and perhaps even fixing several components.
And as the images in the gallery show, online is receiving some very welcome tweaks and add-ons that should give this game some legs.
Speaking of legs, every announced SSFIV character has them. In the above and in the below trailers released this afternoon by Capcom, watch the three new fighters use their lower and upper appendages against each other in non-mortal combat.
Juri is too anime for this game. The over-the-top light trail bullshit on every move is just annoying to watch. I can tell I'm going to be infuriated every time I get hit by that ultra.
I just love that Dan is taunting the barrels and the car! :-D
I can't lie... the new announcer is growing on me. Like a lot of people on SRK pointed out, he sounds just like Yami Yugi... not that I ever watched Yu-Gi-Oh!My only problem is that they still use that tinny effect that sounds like he's shouting into a coffee can. It just sounds so cheap.
I hope they can make it so he talks over himself less... "I'M ALMOST READY TO CALL THIS FIGHT-I'VE NEVER SEEN A COMBO THAT INTE-KAAAAAAY OHHHHH!"
@Mueti
I had thought that was retracted though later as a rumor. If it's in, cool. It'll be nice to have some options with Ultras, and I had thought everyone was getting a new Super as well? Or am I misremembering there.
Also, Capcom has not officially said what the roman numerals on the revenge meter mean, even though they have been asked about them. They just dodged the question.
I feel like I'm the only one noticing this, the new announcer is clearly Jamieson Price. But looking at it as Yami Yugi is a great way to go too, I hope they keep for the final release, possibly record more dialogue(if you can call it that) though.
With the introduction of wall bounces and other behind the scenes stuff, SSFIV seems faster than the original as well.
Yeah, it has more range. However, in he fight club, it had too much range and they're going to be remedying that. However, I don't think Gief's ultra will flat out beat physical ultras. Like Guile's, Bison's, Balrog's, stuff like that. So that's probably why T. Hawk's didn't beat Juri's.
Yeah maybe YOU'VE never been grabbed out of an Ultra, because you just combo into them. I know Gief can do that, though not totally sure if he can do it through the invul frames on startup of one.
ha! Brlito makes a fucking excellent point. Don't the japanese and koreans have some kind of beef? They shoulda had her speaking her native language.
Hell, it's be nice if we had the option to have them all use their own native tongues. Chun Li in Chinese, Gief in Russian, Fuerte in spanish, etc. Although Fuerte does already say a few things in spanish.

I do hope this will be worth my money, with the extra characters and content along with the discount price it seems like it might.
Did I miss something announced earlier?
Can anyone tell me how good the tutorial system is?
It hasn't been confirmed yet, but those numbers may indicated the Ultra in use, like picking Super Arts in SF3. I really hope they don't do this.
Sorry, but until I see Elena, this game won't have legs. Or my dollars.

It HAS been confirmed and yes, every character has 2 ultras.

Capcom has confirmed that SOME characters will have multiple supers and ultras and that it may or may not be a universal thing.
Much like the rest of the desired/rumored stuff, they said that if the fans want it, they'd look into it.

yup.
oh and everyone should check out that 1Up podcast with Seth Killian. It's good.

"AYYYY GUEYYYYYY!"
that's what he's been doing since sf2. nothing new here.
