Square's recent Jump Festa event presented the public with many new goodies to ogle, the new Star Ocean 4 trailer being one of them. The trailer follows the two usual credos of Square previews: it's immaculately gorgeous and shows no gameplay whatsoever. I've got no reason to be snide, so I won't be, but I won't really perk up my ears for this title again until gameplay is shown.

If you want to keep a closer eye on the progress of this upcoming RPG, you can always keep an eye on the Japanese Star Ocean portal site Eternal Sphere. If you don't read moonspeak, you may want to hire a translator.

I hate anything that does not show gameplay. I don't care how well you can make fancy 3D movies (that stopped being amazing long ago). Show me what I will actually be interacting with...

Pretty epic trailer. I just hope it lives up to the greatness the past three 'Star Ocean' titles provided.

Is Jump Festa a time of the year when Latino people in Japan get together to hop around and have a general good time???

'Till the end of time made me stopped following Square-Enix and start following Atlus as my main RPG goodness source.

The last was a disappointing to me. So I'm kind of the fence about this game...

Star Ocean III, Radiata Stories and Valkyrie Profile 2, all games released by Tri-Ace during the PS2 era, all 3 where shit, Radiata being quite possibly the WORST RPG I've ever had the displeasure of playing.

So I have no faith in this.
