The only good thing I can glean from this is that the inevitable sequels will be single-player, since another MMO release would only compete with this one.

They should just release a PC version, if it does come to North America it would work better on PC than the Wii. I have a Wii and like it for what it is but I won't play a MMO on it.
Let the countdown to free-to-play begin! WoW has only been around for 7 years so a 10-year plan on a subscription-based MMO seems... lofty.

Of course they do, 10 years of monthly subscriptions sounds nice to any sort of company, and you can pair down servers to keep the game profitable for a long time. I doubt they expect WoW numbers from it, but if it can get FFXI numbers (which is still profitable for them) then I'm sure they will be good for a long while.

Oh god! What is it with Square and their "announcements?" Honestly, the whole company is starting to sound like, "that guy." [Everybody knows him] The one who talks and talks about all these big plans, all the things he's "going to do." With a long list of nothing but excuses for why it hasn't happen...yet.
