This has been a policy which has worked out extremely well for me.
Im hardly suprised tho, its how things are done these days right?
It's the same version. I have both, I've checked.
@Kerosine
"It's sad how far downhill things went when Squaresoft merged and became Square Enix."
No-no, it went downhill and THEN they were forced to merge to stay alive, it's just that it didn't get good again apart from some single Square game ever fourth year or so. Oh well, at least the "Enix" side has been consistently good so far.
well thats to say you're crazy to think I'd buy a PC version of FF7 that looks to be little more than a the recycled PC verion. From what a decade ago? with new DRM tossed in to screw things up that much more.
If I feel the need to play FF7 I'll put my PS1 disk(s) into my PS2 and if I really really really decide I need to play it on my PC.... I'll just download an emulator and put my PS1 disk(s) into my DVDR.
I certainly have no need for a halfassed, DRM riddled version of one of my most cherished games from squaresoft past.
Also, I don't know what people expected exactly for $9 (or $12 after that sale.).. They weren't going to give you the Gold Saucer for that much...

Nope, running fine, no problems at all, must be an isolated incident with a few users.
Emulation would have required some work when the only work they were willing to put into this turkey was adding securerom to a bad 15 year old port.
How fucking ass-backwards is this?!?! Publishers are beyond reason and rational thinking.
Nice job, SE. Nice job.
And really this shit needs more coverage, its just astounding, 10 bucks for a PC port with no improvements and the most lame tacked on achievements on the planet, and now DRM problems. After the FF14 fiasco I wonder how much further this company can sink.
The only thing I can come up with is they have finally broken down and decided that if you lump enough fail together (bad port, shitty DRM, lazy achievements) something is bound to go right :P
