In true Square Enix fashion, this Front Mission Evloved trailer, created for next week's Tokyo Game Show, is filled with exciting CG and a rousing soundtrack. Missiles fly about, buildings crumble, and giant mechs go at it. Awesome. And, just like they always do, they've left out game play footage. Even still, the trailer does its job of getting us excited about their newest addition to the series.

In case you've missed it, Square Enix has dumped the strategy RPG game play for third-person shooting action. The reworking comes by way of comes from Double Helix. The game is coming out for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, too.

I'll miss the SRPG elements, but I also love giant mechs.  This could be great. Here's hoping we'll see more than fancypants CG in the coming weeks.

I have a feeling this will turn out like Dirge of Cerberus.

Oh man, from the developers that made such greats like GI Joe! Yeah, thats right, the game that scored 3/10!

One of my favorite Square series' is going to be trashed by this company, great!

If they're dropping the turn-based RPG elements from the game, aren't they just producing a new Armored Core title? Color me unimpressed, there was no need to try and make a better mouse-trap. I liked Front Mission the way it was. Watching this with heavy skepticism.

I would say this is awesome, maybe, if it wasn't for Double Helix being behind it. I love Front Mission games, and I'm not sure this is what I want out of them. SE, pleeeeaassee convince me this is a good idea! Haha.

Will somebody stop giving Double Helix decent franchises to ruin?

Doesn't look too bad... we'll see after some actual gameplay footage comes out.

is this confirmed to hit the states? after Squeenix was butthurt from poor sales of FM4, I figure no more Front Mission games would bother gracing the american shores again anytime soon...

Please, allow me, as someone who loves this franchise, to have a moment that may seem a little out of character...

Dear Square-Enix,

Quit raping my beloved Front Mission.

Yours,
Takeshi

(p.s. the video looks good but it's not Front Mission)

I liked their take on Silent Hill so I ain't dismissing this one yet.

But that trailer looks just like every other brown-hued mech games that has been released.

So, what, Virtua On arcade style? Why even bother calling it Front Mission if you're taking away it's core concept? Is this what we can expect from Squenix from now on, that unless it has the words "Final Fantasy" in the title, anyone can take any of their franchises for a
spin?

I can't wait to see what its like, I always hated the boring turn based crap for it. It's freakin Mechs not blond hair dudes with overly huge weapons.
