I saw Square Enix Japan's mystery webpage earlier today and had some ideas. You see, the title of the page is "NEW GAME," and other than a John F. Kennedy quote and a cool cityscape, not much else is shown or shared. But if you listen instead of look, you can kind of imagine the sounds coming right out of a new Front Mission (Square Enix's militaristic strategy RPG series) videogame. But that's all I had, really. Nothing worth talking about.
It turns out that the same backdrop on this webpage was used at the end of a teaser in the June issue of OXM. The folks at 1UP seem to be pretty sure that this is a new Front Mission game for the Xbox 360, set to be revealed at E3.
If this is the case, then we look forward to telling you more about it in exactly one month. I'm already getting my hopes up. What about you?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I just hope is not pitiful as Star Ocean: The Last Hope
Nice to see Front Mission on 360, as I feel it will be more welcome than FFXIII.
Now if we could just get Square to port Front Mission 5 onto PSP (since PS2 is soon on its way to the glue factory), I'd be on Cloud's head, navigating blond spikes.
And guess what? No news of a PS3 version yet. Makes a change.
Salt in wounds....ouch!
They screw us over by holding back FM5 and then give the next one exclusively to a platform whose larger audience is least likely to appreciate it? Fuck that noise!
also its bs that front mission 5 wasn't localized
Star Ocean was made by Tri-ace, Square merely published it.
Nothing against you but I'm astounded at how many people don't know the difference between developer and publisher.
And LOL at all the butthurt people that the 360 might potentially get a Front Mission game.
I for one hope it happens, I loves me some Front Mission.
I concur.
@Kyousuke: We're not butthurt about the fact that the 360 might be getting some front mission, we're just pissed that Squenix has released NOTHING on the PS3, while announcing yet another 360 exclusive. You really think they're going to do that PS3 port of the Last Remnant? Hell no! PS3 owners will get nothing until FF XIII, nothing exclusive until VersusXIII and even that may end up multiplat.
I refuse to buy a 360 for just one game but I was getting close.
I loved Front Mission 3. The only one that was released in Europe. :,O(
Perhaps this new FM game might go both 360, then later PS3. If it means spreading the series popularity and getting more sales, I'll support this game.
Speaking of FM, isn't FM: Border of Madness due soon on DS?
Loved 3.
and i lamented the fact that they never released anymore here.
