Watch Squeenix actually release something good, and then all the regular kids who think its cool to talk shit on the unreal engine because it's only one of the most accessible and easy to use engines out there suddenly have a change of heart and LOVE IT SO MUCH.

Japan and the Unreal Engine? I sincerely hope this doesn't mean technical issues like in Last Remant and Lost Odyssey. Those load times were horrible.
I thought they spent like 6 years making their White Engine? It's decently impressive, for closed in areas. I wonder what Versus XIII has been running off of.
Hopefully a Last Remnant sequel or something along the lines of that game because honestly with the technical issues that was the last good SE game i played
Square Enix presents Unreal Tournament 4
The story follows Sky as he enters the Unreal Tournament to find his missing parents and restore order to WhoGivesAFuckia.
Along the way, he meets Slutty McSlut Slut, the bubbly young girl who dresses like a slut and clearly has a thing for Sky, but tries to hide it because the only way she's capable of showing her emotions is through anger.
For all you anime fans out there: she's a tsundere.
They also meet Bob, the glorious third wheel, Sluteria Sluterson, who dresses even more like a slut, but she's not afraid to hide it and so she grabs and touches herself in attempts to get into Sky's pants, but due to Slutty's interference and Sky's phobia of sticking his penis into hot women, she will never be pleased. There's also probably some other companions, one of whom is some type of animal person hybrid.
UT4 will include brand new modes such as Hallway Hellfire in which which 2 teams of 64 players run down a hallway big enough for 1 player and fire at each other until one wins.
There's also new weapons such as the summoner! Fire the gun to summon a random summon from the Final Fantasy franchise! Odin, Odin Ass Odin, OdinOdinOdin, Shiva, Hot Lesbian Shiva thing from XIII, and many more! You can even summon Knights of the Round from FF7! (Collector's Edition includes sandwich making kit to give you something to do while you wait!)

Are they having that much trouble with their own engine they have to go crawling back to Epic? Or are they hoping they can learn something to help make their own engine capable of being licensed out?

Let's just hope none of them have online multiplayer. UE3 seems to have a hard time dealing with that.
Wait, I thought Square had already licensed the Unreal Engine? I remember they announced they were doing it before the release of XIII, as apparently the development of their own Crystal Tools engine was just way too time-consuming.
Here's my take: Squares realized that building a new engine for EVERY game and use an established one to make more money sooner.
Which is to say this isn't a bad thing what-so-ever and will hopefully mean a return to great storytelling with a decreased focus on halting up game production years at a time because your engine needs a revamp. It could only mean good things for them and gamers alike.
