Square-Enix holds exclusive party, snubs attendees with trailers and laughter photo

As you may have spotted earlier in prolific community member Brad Nicholson's Cblog, Square-Enix is hosting an exclusive little shindig this August 2nd and 3rd. Apparently admission is more exclusive than the velvet rope bars I watch people stand in line for every weekend in Miami Beach -- only 2,400 people have been invited, and all were picked from the Japanese Square-Enix Members website. Fancy, indeed.

The party is going to be called DKΣ3713, which could be the only name for it I might like less than "wang exposition", and attendees get to watch trailers and play demos for the following upcoming Square titles:

FINAL FANTASY XIII (PS3) Trailer
FINAL FANTASY Versus XIII (PS3) Trailer
FINAL FANTASY Agito XIII (Mobile) Trailer
KINGDOM HEARTS Coded (Mobile) Trailer
KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days (DS) Trailer/Playable Demo
KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep (PSP) Trailer/Playable Demo
DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY (PSP) Trailer/Playable Demo
The 3rd Birthday (Mobile) Trailer
Sigma Harmonics (DS) Trailer/Playable Demo
FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN COMPLETE (Movie/Blu-ray) Trailer

I know, being the Square fan I am I should be masturbating furiously over this, but I'm a little underwhelmed. Sure, I'd be psyched to play Sigma Harmonics, but no playable demo of XIII OR Versus? Yes, games take time to develop. I know.  I also know I was told well over a year ago that a playable demo was coming, and I still don't have one. Call me impatient, but I have better things to do than stand around holding my breath for this one.

@Brahms - who the hell knows now. I'll just take my PSP pickings because I know that Dissidia and Birth by Sleep will most likely be released before FFXIII

I almost wonder if FFXIII is just a clever smokescreen for The Bouncer 2.

Man, Crystal Tools (aka the White Engine) must be giving them a lot of grief. No wonder they've opted to license the Unreal engine for everything else.

No Dragon Quest IX? That seems like a no brainer and it's not like this is just a Kingdom Hearts and FF event.
