Anyone else think DX:HR's success had something to do with this? Have Eidios Montreal done any other big games?
Is it just me, or does Square Enix's acquisition of Eidos look like a better deal every week, never really considered Eidos to be a major asset but when you think about it, with the right resources they have some immense 'Western IP'. Square did good for once.

I agree completely. They're not as high profile as say Valve or DICE but you can't say they don't make good games.

If you've found Montreal to be clean, you probably were smoking crack. Joking aside that's great news for a bunch of people I know, including me.
This is good. I really hope this leads to some new IP and maybe even letting them start tackle old forgotten ones too.

maybe they could rehire the original voice actor, writers, composer this time??
anyways good to see they expand Eidos Montreal.
i just hope Theif 4 will be just as amazing as they did to Deus Ex HR.
staying true to the original premise while adding modern mechanics to the mix.

Speaking as a montrealer looking to get into the video game industry in a few years this bodes really well for me. The video game industry is absolutely huge here. The only big gaming company that seems to be missing from Montreal is Activision
Been to Montreal. Went there after graduation with my friends because you can drink and gamble up there at 18. Every night was spent tipping endlessly for drinks (because of their crazy gratitude laws) at strip clubs (oh yeah, add drinking in strip clubs to that list). Even went to that underground mall (I remember my friend picked up the first Black and White game there for his new laptop).. People there were amazingly nice to us despite my being the only one who knew any French at all (I know there's people who speak English there too, but we somehow missed everyone who did. lol)
Best part was running through the streets drunk, during a thunderstorm, trying to get back to the hotel in one piece, only to have lightning strike but not a stones throw away from you... Such a good trip!
Any way, good for them for opening the new studio, hopefully it'll mean great things for them -specially being so close to their Eidos branch there.
