Here's hoping IO Interactive will make a good game, because after playing Kane & Lynch 2 I...eugh.
110706? hmmmm
“This is both a familiar and yet significantly different experience from other Hitman games; something our silent assassins will relish, as will all those new to the Hitman world.”
if you are new to hitman and start with this one you should be shot. and i dont like the sounds of the "same but different." leads me to believe it will be multi. or lets hope co-op. maybe each player is an agent trying to take out a target with out being spotted etc by other players. kinda like the assassins creed game? that might be interesting. but i still stand against any multiplayer for hitman.
"Something our silent assassins will relish, as will all those new to the Hitman world."
I really hope that's not code for, "We are trying to appeal to casual gamers now."
Deus EX HR, New Tomb Raider, and now this.
not really interested in the Hitman series.
now if they can make a new Legacy of Kain or Fear Effect :P
How did Blystad pronounce the "®"?
But I want some sort of Kane and lynch cameo in this game.
Since both can be in the same universe (If they already aren't)
Even something as simple as a radio or news report saying
*SPOILERS*
2 highly armed dangerous men have hijacked a plane from Tokyo Japan, more as it develops. Even something like that would be awesome.
Then do everyone a favor and stop reading it.
Anyway, glad to hear about this. Hopefully it comes out good.
Ps. I hate the way brits and all those other @#%`~*($^s write dates. 11/07/06?!?! WTF!?!?!
Oh shit I'd be down for a new Fear Effect especially if they kept with the unique look. Oh man that would be awesome.
I have faith that they'll take care with this one. The Hitman series has always consisted of great games that are held back from the masses by a few technical problems. I expect the same here, and that's okay with me.
If they keep the same basic gameplay, upgrade the AI, and throw in a few dozen more ways to kill people I'll be happy.
Also, there should be a level where you go to the top of a large office building and assassinate the CEO of a game company whos 10 dollar map pack caused a shooting spree which killed the client's son.
I'd just wait for this one but apparently if I do that I should be shot.

Don't give SE any credit here. They bought out Eidos in April 2009. These games were probably in develooment stages long before SE did anything of the sort.
I'll give SE credit when they give us a proper FFT2, another Chrono game, etc. from their own stash of quality IPs.
No more of that silly Kane & whats his face anymore, right? RIGHT!?!?
Okay, now you've got my hopes up for a new Fear Effect. You, Eidos, and SE better deliver!
Hitman: Absolution confirmed for Big Boss cameo appearance. Lol
In all seriousness though, I could see Kojima being interested in some kind of MGS reference since it's a stealth game. Look at Assassin's Creed.
that's the thing square bought them and help some of their projects(square's visual art studio did Deus Ex HR CGI cutscenese)
actually i remember Eidos being dismay with their lukewarm releases. Tomb Raider isn't what it's used to be, no more Legacy of Kain games, Hitman might have been in development before the merger so i give you that, and just as Griven said. they lost millions of dollars, key people resigning and honestly if square didn't bought them i doubt we could have seen Deus Ex HR or the new Tomb Raider for what it is today.
and yes Square needs to do something about their IP. there like Capcom, tons of great IP's that are not being used. Darkstalkers, Onimusha, Chaos Legion, Dino Crisis, for square side Nier, Chrono Series, Xenogears, Saga Series, Mana series, etc....
lulz
IO and SE are too busy fapping to their own games from the '90s to make a great game.
On that note here's a good interview with Stan Liu, creator of Fear Effect.
