Spore gets third patch, free limbs get you 24 parts closer to making your ex photo
     Electronic Arts

Surprise! Computer games ship with imperfections and then they -- get this -- receive a patch! Maxis' Spore just got its third patch, the cleverly titled "Patch 3," which fixes the following bugs:

  • Fix for "ESC" key not bringing up Options in Galaxy Game Entry
  • Fix for creator backgrounds appearing on small Sporepedia cards
  • Update to help keep achievements on the server in sync with achievements in the game

Additionally, to make it seem less like a "we fixed some broken crap" update and more of a "really neat new stuff for you" update, they're throwing in 24 free exoskeleton limbs for the Creature Creator. Presumably, now you can create that guy you see in the header.

And it's finally all coming together.

I was psyched for Spore. I thought it would be "create whatever you want, then play with it in various settings, any way you want!".

Instead it was "create whatever you want, then play with it our way and only our way, oh and you're being attacked by 8 species at the same time so hurry hurry hurry click click click, oh and it doesn't matter what your creature is, it acts like everything else."

Bitter, I know.

Brawl was a fantastic game that people poured weeks and weeks into at launch. Online wasn't great but that was tacked on just to appease people that refused to buy it if it didnt have it at all.

I agree with the above poster that said Brawl is the most disappointing game of 2008. I can't believe I preordered it and waited out in the cold for it. Bullshit.
