You guys are not gonna like this. That's ok though, because I like it a lot, and since I write for Destructoid I get to put things I like on the front page for thousands of people to see. Ha!
So the story here is: Brian Lam at Gizmodo got an insane Halo 3 swag bag from Microsoft which he unpacked on film for site readers to see. Apparently his method of unpacking the bag frazzled Halo fans so badly that one of them actually made a death threat to Brian in the comments. A death threat! Over Halo swag! I'm surprised I've been able to resist fits of hysterics in the fetal position long enough to write this article.
In response to this rabid feedback, Brian has made a follow up video in which he repacks the bag and talks a bit more to the people watching. It's hilarious, but I'm repeating the warning so I don't get death threats myself: the video contains a MAJOR SPOILER and please DO NOT WATCH IT if you are trying to preserve the surprise of Halo 3's ending. If you've already finished it or looked it up on YouTube, enjoy (or not.)
[Mad love to Adam Dork for this one]

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
That rocked!
I think he won the Halos.
On a slightly more understandable note, I agree with Dick McV.
I second DMV's comment, this made my monotonous day at work go by a little quicker
people can be pretty uptight about the nuttiest things sometimes.
GIVE THIS MAN A MEDAL
And then go get his duffel bag for me.
/Couldn't care less either way.
//Barely even played Halo 2
Virtual Realities
Awesome.
All the fanboys just shed a tear.

Win.
i don't quite understand the final score Halo 3 is receiving at some places after the things they say in the review proper. sounds like the Hardly Boys need to investigate, too many people have raging clues about this game (yes, I've played this iteration and the preview, my suite mate has them all).
Also, lol at death threats.
If you ask me, a game with great multiplayer but a near complete fail on the primary focus of the title. That's deserving of a 80/100 score and no higher... Giving it a 90+ just because of the name or "Because the multiplayer is great" is a failure on the side of reviewing. "Finish the Fight" is what it was marketed around. After hearing from people how short it was, now I finally understand why they never had shown any single player campaign footage to the people.
If that was all the "swag" could handle before it broke, then obviously it would have been the fault of Microsoft in giving out such cheapshiat merchandise - then we'd hear a completely different story from all these fanboys... Meh, I actually take that back. Paint shit green and slap a Halo Banner on it and they'd still say it was awesome.
I'm Not saying he couldn't be a totally different but that's the impression that he gives. Hopefully I don't sound like I'm talking out of my ass. I guess I was just raised to be more grateful for anything I'm given or because I'm over-cautious with my games and such.
It's ridiculous how much Halo fanboyism there is out there. The fact that Briam Lam got a death threat from tossing a kitten-sized master chief helmet onto a carpet is insane. Completely insane. It's just a game with a mediocre storyline and great multiplayer. Relax.
The company obviously tried to purchase a positive viewpoint from Gizmodo regarding Halo 3 by sending all this free stuff to reviewers. In some cases, it worked, in some, not so well.
Oh man.
I love you, Colette!
I want all of my offspring to know how awesome Brian Lam really is.
In regards to the spoiler: Um, no he doesn't. Was he being serious about that part? Because if anyone actually pays attention... well, frankly, no he doesn't. Anyway, it's stupid that they sent in death threats. Obviously.
Yeah he can do whatever he wants, but he _is_ also kind of being a douche.
Microsoft has created a beast that can not be fed. Nice to see people revolt...
