That really is a beautiful game. This makes me want to get my hands on it and Skyward Sword even more.
Past a certain point this transcends easter egg, and just goes into full blown advertisement. Whatever, it's still cool.
Actually there's been an "easter egg" to skyward sword since the original on the n64 anyway.

Also it kind of sucks that they just lifted modern promotional art and didn't try and tie it into the world in any way.
The Zelda storyline has always been and likely will always be irrelevant.
Thinking about it, Nintendo really needs to find a way to make the story in ANY of their games at least somewhat significant. It's probably their weakest point as far as game development is concerned.

I find myself agreeing with you. I've never picked up a nintendo game to find out what happens. That said, usually the gameplay is solid enough to make me keep playing on its own merits. There's a level of design skill there that it would be easy, yet detrimental to overlook.
