Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia HD coming to Xbox 360 photo

The Entertainment Software Ratings Board is North America's primary bean-spiller, and if you're a fan of Ubisoft franchises, it dropped a big bit of cool news today. The board has rated the Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia HD re-releases for the Xbox 360.

Originally only announced for the PlayStation 3, these touched-up releases are going to find a wider audience than previous, PS3-exclusive collections such as God of War and Sly Cooper. So, if you like your gaming Microsoft-flavored, Ubi's got you covered.

So yes, that is a thing.

I'll still probably get the PoP HD collection on PS3. Splinter Cell however, will be on my Xbox.

Well then, they just sold a Splinter Cell collection.

It is the whole collection right? Not just the first game?

Everyone must play Splinter Cell regardless of platform preference.

I'm not crazy about the Splinter Cell games, I played the first two when they were originally released and they bored me so I felt I had no reason to play them instead of the Metal Gear Solid games. I will however be getting my PoP collection on 360 instead of PS3, I just like the Xbox controller better.

Wasn't it the 360 fanboys screaming about saying these remakes are garbage and shouldn't be made? Anyways great news and more money for ubisodt. I love these hd remakes and I hope more come!

I know this is lame because I already own these games for the Original Xbox.... but I can't help but feel really freaking excited about this!

I wonder how achievements will work if its a retail package of three games like the ps3. The ps3 version has a separate set of trophies for each game(full set with platinum) or it might have to be downloadable only because xbox 360 uses dvds which have less space. Microsoft only allows 200 achievements points for downloadable games though. None the less, glad more people are getting access to the games and I'm intrigued at how they'll do the 360 version.

I replayed the first two Splinter cell games before Conviction came out, and they still looked pretty good, gameplay wise, so I'm super hyped for this.

Actually, the only person to say anything fanboyish in the thread was you:

"Don't have a ps3? Simple don't bitch and buy one hah"

Seriously, go back and read through the thread. It was a completely unprovoked comment.

Checking out PoP and buying SC for sure. Also BG&E is going to be 10 bucks on XBLA (just confimed 5 minutes ago) on March 2, which is another steal. Man Ubi, going buck wild with them HD remakes huh?

Okay, this does make sense. I was wondered why developers put their remixes on PS3 only as they would lose out on a huge portion of players, but this is good news. I will get Splinter Cell.

Sofik still here.? Lol. PS3 doesn't have exclusives.? Uh, ok.lol I really don't get this console hate that most have. I mean it pretty much sucks to be sofik since he'll be missing out on great ps3 exclusives this year.

Great news. I've never played a PoP game so I might be tempted to check it out now. The Splinter Cell collection is the one I'm most happy to hear is coming to the 360 though.

Microsoft just stated that they aren't interested in revisiting the past, it's all about the future. With the amazing lineup of games that have so far been released for 360 and Kinect in 2011, I guess 360 owners would just like to play some games.

Yes. Most likely a day one purchase. The Splinter Cell games are some of the most awesome games I have played. I have not been disappointed with a single title yet. Even Conviction, despite it being totally different.

Also, I hope they bring back Spy vs Merc Online Multiplayer, and Co-op.

PS3 doesn't have exclusives? Hahahaha! What a wanker...

If people don't know, they took BC out so they could lower the price and not bleed money. They sold all the old systems for a loss. Every system they sold, they lost money. Besides, if anyone is really going to bitch about it, a used PS2 is dirt cheap. I mean, some dirt is more expensive than a PS2 even...

@sofik88 - Uhh, Microsoft DID turn off backward compatibility for Xbox games. Sure, there are plenty of original Xbox games that can be played but a) Microsoft stopped updating for other ones and b) the original Xbox Live service was shut down so games such as Halo 2 or Splinter Cell Chaos Theory can no longer be played online. Yeah, thank Microsoft.

Original topic - This is great news! I'm glad now Xbox owners can purchase these games too. What's even better is now I know Ubisoft is remaking Splinter Cell using the Xbox games instead of the crappy PS2 ports. Sweet!

Keep 'em coming, guys. I heard Metal Gear Solid and Devil May Cry are up next. Release them as multiplats for all I care. My only question is, how will they release these games on the 360? They can't all fit on one DVD. Will they release them as downloadable titles?

Are they full trilogies or individual releases via arcade?
I would love POP on my PS3, and if Chaos Theory's multiplayer works, then that's exactly where I'll be.

Wow, just saw the link for Beyond Good & Evil. Awesome! But for only 800 points? They're basically giving it away. No word on the PSN release though. But to support Michel Ancel I'll purchase it on Xbox Live and PSN when it comes out. I can spare 20 bucks.

Not that I'm saying it won't or can't happen but..

How are they gonna get these games onto the 360 when the data cap is 2 GB and the games themselves range from 3.2 GB to 3.8 GB each? Just Add Water can't even compress "Strangers Wrath" to under 2.1 GB I doubt they will for all of Ubisoft's other games. And DVD9 will not be able to hold more than 2 of these games...

Other than that, I'm glad other people will be able to play these games and it seems 360 gamers are more willing to buy downloadable games than PS3 gamers

These aren't going to be downloadable. It's more than likely that Ubisoft will just include 3 discs.

@sofik88 you have to be the biggest troll on this site besides jayson619. M$ didn't turn backwards compatibility. The 360 is barely even compatible with original xbox games. You can't play any EA sport games. I remember back in 07 when I wanted to play madden 06 for the first xbox on my 360. I couldn't because it doesn't work. There are a hell of a lot of games that don't work as a matter of fact. Sony took the BC out to reduce the cost of the system because everyone cried about paying $600. Then they cried because they couldn't play PS2 games on a system they paid $400 for. I simply hooked up my orignal xbox when I wanted to play old games. I didn't pay that kind of money to play old games. I just don't like the new maddens.
