The Entertainment Software Ratings Board is North America's primary bean-spiller, and if you're a fan of Ubisoft franchises, it dropped a big bit of cool news today. The board has rated the Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia HD re-releases for the Xbox 360.
Originally only announced for the PlayStation 3, these touched-up releases are going to find a wider audience than previous, PS3-exclusive collections such as God of War and Sly Cooper. So, if you like your gaming Microsoft-flavored, Ubi's got you covered.
So yes, that is a thing.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Welp, ACHIEVEMENTS.
It is the whole collection right? Not just the first game?
Actually, the only person to say anything fanboyish in the thread was you:
"Don't have a ps3? Simple don't bitch and buy one hah"
Seriously, go back and read through the thread. It was a completely unprovoked comment.
Also, I hope they bring back Spy vs Merc Online Multiplayer, and Co-op.
If people don't know, they took BC out so they could lower the price and not bleed money. They sold all the old systems for a loss. Every system they sold, they lost money. Besides, if anyone is really going to bitch about it, a used PS2 is dirt cheap. I mean, some dirt is more expensive than a PS2 even...
Original topic - This is great news! I'm glad now Xbox owners can purchase these games too. What's even better is now I know Ubisoft is remaking Splinter Cell using the Xbox games instead of the crappy PS2 ports. Sweet!
Keep 'em coming, guys. I heard Metal Gear Solid and Devil May Cry are up next. Release them as multiplats for all I care. My only question is, how will they release these games on the 360? They can't all fit on one DVD. Will they release them as downloadable titles?
I would love POP on my PS3, and if Chaos Theory's multiplayer works, then that's exactly where I'll be.
How are they gonna get these games onto the 360 when the data cap is 2 GB and the games themselves range from 3.2 GB to 3.8 GB each? Just Add Water can't even compress "Strangers Wrath" to under 2.1 GB I doubt they will for all of Ubisoft's other games. And DVD9 will not be able to hold more than 2 of these games...
Other than that, I'm glad other people will be able to play these games and it seems 360 gamers are more willing to buy downloadable games than PS3 gamers
These aren't going to be downloadable. It's more than likely that Ubisoft will just include 3 discs.
