Splinter Cell Conviction will take around 12 hours to beat photo

In a conversation with Official Xbox Magazine, creative director Maxime Beland, said Splinter Cell Conviction will take around twelve hours to complete on the “Normal” difficulty setting. And those twelve seemingly orgasmic hours won’t be filled with “Game Over” screens -- Beland reckons players won’t be eating baddie bullets often.

“We’re going to ship with difficulty levels,” Beland said, “at least a normal mode and realistic mode -- like we did on Rainbow Six Vegas. And ‘Realistic’ is going to be really f--king hard -- you’re going to need stealth, two bullets is going to kill you, the enemies are going to be super-lethal.”

Beland then noted that in Normal mode players “are going to spend 12 hours playing our game and not 30 because they’re dying all the time.”

Twelve hours of Conviction sounds good to us, however, we wouldn’t mind more time with Mr. Fisher. He seems so lonely.

I can dig it. I'll probably play through a second time on realistic just to see if I can.

@Platypus: somebody's been sippin' on the Haterade, eh?

Take it easy Platypus, it's just a story about the length of the new Splinter Cell. It's not going to hurt you.

Remember when I told you that any tidbit that one person might find interesting is considered news? Well this is news. 1UP.com considered it news before dtoid, and the Official Xbox Magazine (I think they know what they're doing) before them.

This is the exact average of a typical action game: I'm not surprised. Will it have mercs vs. spies is the question.

Only 12 hours? Bummer. But then, if they're doing it to make the game really good, then all is forgiven.

Nice, 12 hours (or around there) seem to be the sweet spot for these kind of games. Since you don't want them to long or they just end up feeling dragged out.

Plus doesn't this one still have the acclaimed Merc vs Spy MP?
I just hope they fixed a few things here and there and added some new stuff as well if its still in.
Since isn't double agents MP area a lot more empty than it should be
