As we've been saying ever since E3, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction is the game to watch. What we've seen so far looks incredible, but we've been wanting a better look. Well, you're not going to find a better look than this new walk-through video.

In this first-time-ever look, we see a mission where a Black Arrow officer is to be taken. How do I know? Well, you'll get to see how they chose to display objectives right on the environment. Very cool. Interrogations go down, shots are fired, heads are bashed in and balls are kneed. Brilliance.

"Tell me what I need to know, and I might not snap your neck," Sam says.

"Fu*k you!"

That dude dies, naturally.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction is an Xbox 360 (well, and PC) exclusive, and is sneaking up to its February 23, 2010 release date.

Didn't this used to be a stealth game? I don't think there is a much more aggressive approach than dropping into the middle a room and headshotting everybody with your auto-aim.

This is going to be fucking awesome. I loved splinter cell but most of the complaints about it, namely that the pacing was a bit slow at times and the action sucked as soon as you were seen, were quite true. (That's true of the majority of stealth games, unfortunately, the most egregious offender IMO being the MGS series.) Chaos Theory was a vast improvement, but the shooting was still clumsy. This looks to eliminate those problems entirely.

With this and Assassin's Creed II coming out, the stealth game genre may be getting a hefty boost. We'll see how they pan out.

I thought this was more stealth action, less picking up thugs in the men's room?? I guess maybe I should watch the video though. :)

Now that I have watched the video, I can confirm it IS more stealth action, less picking up thugs in the bathroom. Nice!! I am TIRED of men's room simulators.

How long has this been in development? And Uncharted 2 looks better? For shame.

@Carlton Banks

Come now, that's not really fair because Uncharted 2 looks better then pretty much anything on consoles.

Truly! I think it will be some time until something comes out that looks better than Uncharted 2. Probably whenever God of War 3 drops.

I loved the "aggressive" stealth in Batman: AA, and this seems to be in the same vein. Sign me up!

I see only one glaring problem with this. In order for the speed to actually work within the gameplay they need to sacrifice some of the actual control over the character.

That is, it will most likely be more like the new Prince of Persia.

Looks fantastic, is really smooth but more about pressing one button and seeing Sam do 58 different moves, kill 6 bad guys, de-activate a nuclear bomb etc all at once.

Even so, I have a feeling I'll be buying this when it's released.

I've never gotten into the Splinter Cell series, but visually, this one is shaping up really nicely.

Uncharted 2 is brand new and it still doesn't look as good as Crysis? For shame.

So they took chaos theory and double agent, forced them to make a baby and then painted it black

It looks great...but the auto-aim... I'm just not feeling it. I mean, it just looks way too easy. It looks sexy, it looks great and I love Sam Fisher but this...just feels like insta headshot and look like a badass commando... And somehow I think the feeling will end up being a novelty. There was just something much more satisfying, even if it wasn't quite so flashy and fast paced, about sneaking around and knocking people out in the other games.

Now you're just...a super killer agent with headshot auto-aim and extra gadgets like exploding cameras...

Looks great, but that execute might take practically all the challenge from the game. I'll still buy it though.

Just FYI, he doesn't kill that guy. He stabs him through the hand, but the guy's still alive. He ends up telling Fisher something about a scientist towards the end of that particular clip.

Game looks decent. I still prefer the footage from the much earlier build.

As long as there aren't hidden quick time events, I'm sold. If Splinter Cell stoops to that level, I may lose faith in games.

this is the most ive ever been interested in splinter cell and its exclusive... ugh ubi has almost never been on my good side. i loved rainbow 6 multi when i didnt lag. rb6v2 just added run that was a + but i hated almost all the new maps accept for comcast and neon grave yard. im still waiting for the list of things 360 can do that the ps3 couldn't that brought up ubi's original decision to make it exclusive.

It looks really good the only thing im skeptical about is how easy it is to do that mark and exicute move where it goes into slomo i love splinter cell but this looks a little to easy

This is looking really good. Its great that Ubi are taking Sam Fisher through an evolution of sorts, making him feel more real. We haven't seen Solid Snake do this kind of stuff, because he's a genetic clone, who can be replaced if he dies.

And I admit, I've been more into MGS over the years because of its awesome characters, so a lot of the SC series I have missed. I have SC: Double Agent, and I've got this one my buy list.

I love the JJ Abrams style use of text projection into the game environment. And no, SC done googles ages before Batman.

Man, this is going to have a lot to live up to after Batman:AA. I've loved each incarnation of SC, and enjoyed Tenchu and MGS, but I've never enjoyed a stealth mode as much as the one in Batman. As long as they preserve the sense that you're a fearsome predator, picking off confused and terrified men, rather than a dude hiding in shadows from bad guys, it should rock.
