Splinter Cell Conviction, Red Steel 2 pushed to 2010 photo

We heard rumblings of this last week, but we didn't want to believe it was true -- Ubisoft has pushed the releases of Splinter Cell Conviction and Red Steel 2 into 2010.

In its First-Quarter 2009-10 Sales report, the publisher confirmed the delays, along with confirmation that the fourth fiscal quarter will see the release of a new Ghost Recon, as well as the mysterious I Am Alive

In fact, the second quarter of fiscal 2009-10 sees very few Ubisoft releases. The publisher only plans to release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles titles for Wii and PlayStation 2, the game tie-in for the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs film, Academy of Champions in territories outside of North America, as well as a handful of casual titles for Wii and Nintendo DS.

If you're into numbers, the full report can be read on Ubisoft's corporate Web site.

Holy fucking shit, this is getting ridiculous. EVERYTHING is being delayed now.

Microsoft now only has one real exclusive this holiday season, that's pretty nuts.

Horrible press conference, horrible release dates. Woo Ubisoft!
I also like how there are next to no more good (retail) Xbox games coming out for the rest of the year. WTF people. At least Live is bustling with awesome new content (still playing Monkey Island, Mothership next week, Splosion Man, Shadow Complex...).
Ah, got off track. Um....Fuck Ubisoft and all that.

It's a secret conspiracy, by Oprah, to delay every single game except Modern Warfare 2, and jack the price up to $70. First, she'll give away thousands of copies for free on her show so everyone will know there's a community, then everyone else will lose their only reason not to buy it.

"Do you want to play a game, honey? Look under your chair!"

WTF! I haven't played ANYTHING new since...Hell, I can't remember! Last year, the gaming calendar was PACKED with releases from June all the way to Dec and this year there's BARELY anything coming out?!

I blame Modern Warfare 2.:P

Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if MW2 actually did have a hand in all the delays.

Well geez.

Ah well. More room in the budget this fall for Way of the Samurai 3. That's coming out in October, ya know.

Shit son, the point of pushing games back is so that there's less games competing with each other during launch. If this keeps up, there won't be any games launching in Christmas and tons of games launching in the Q1 of 2010. Ironic, no?

FUCK!

But I guess the good in this is breathing room for Holidays, cause god knows how much I'll spend if these games weren't delayed.

As fucking insane as that sounds, I would not be surprised one bit.

It's a beast that everyone's scared of, and that's amazing.

Well as much as this blows at least my wallet will thank me a little this holiday. I'm still getting Uncharted 2, Assassin's Creed 2, and Modern Warfare 2.

I am actually sort of appreciative of this. I'm already committed to buying several games this holiday season, and I'd just miss out on a lot of the ones getting delayed anyway.

Wow, I'm glad publishers are willing to even out their release schedules and all. But so many of the games I'm interested in, are getting delayed now that there's almost nothing that interests me anymore, except Brutal Legend, Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2, and some DS titles.

But I think we can safely conclude now, that 2010 is allready confirmed to be the greatest year in gaming so far!

These are just the games that I'm looking forward to:

- Alan Wake
- Bayonetta
- Bioshock 2
- Diablo III
- Final Fantasy XIII
- Gears of War 3 (?)
- God of War III
- Golden Sun DS
- Mass Effect 2
- Metroid: Other M
- No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle
- Sin & Punishment 2
- Splinter Cell: Conviction
- Super Mario Galaxy 2
- Team Behemoth's Game 3
- The Last Guardian (?)
- The Legend of Zelda Wii (?)
- + many others that I cant remember or haven't been announced yet.
