Spidey is so wittle and cutesy in Spider-Man: Friend or Foe photo

Actvision has sent us some new information and Xbox 360 screenshots of the upcoming multi-platform title, Spider-Man: Friend of Foe. Aren't Spidey and his pals looking adorable? I just want to pinch their little super-cheeks, say "Wubbah wubbah wubbah," and slobber all over their adorable little faces.

Friend of Foe is inspired not only by the film trilogy and the classic Spider-Man comics, but by money, as well. The game has Spidey and his buddies teaming up with the likes of baddies like Venom, and friends like Blade, to overcome an unnamed worldwide evil threat. In addition to the game's two-player co-op mode, Friend or Foe also includes a one-on-one versus mode that can't possibly be as bad as Marvel Nemesis.

Versions of Spider-Man: Friend or Foe will be coming to all manner of videogame platforms, including Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, Sony PSP, and PC. The game should be available this Fall, just in time for the home video release of Spider-Man 3 and some sort of fast food marketing tie-in, we're sure.

Spider-ManTM: Friend or Foe

FACT SHEET – BASED ON CONSOLE AND PC VERSIONS

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Inspired by the Spider-Man film trilogy and the classic Spider-Man™ comics, Spider-Man™: Friend or Foe challenges players to defeat and then join forces with notorious movie nemeses including Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Venom and Sandman, and embark on an epic quest to overcome a worldwide evil threat. Throughout the game’s original story and thrilling battles, fans control Spider-Man and one of numerous Super Hero or Super Villain sidekicks and master unique fighting moves and styles while switching between characters to execute team combos and defeat foes. For the first time ever in a Spider-Man game, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe features a unique co-op mode in which a friend can join the game at any time and take control of Spider-Man’s sidekick as they battle through the game side-by-side and replay favorite levels.

KEY FEATURES:

Spider-Man: Friend or Foe allows players to choose a sidekick from Spider-Man’s allies – Pick from a long list of Spider-Man’s powerful allies, like Blade and Iron Fist, and swap between the web-slinger and the chosen sidekicks at any time during gameplay. Each sidekick, good or evil, features their own unique attributes and powers that will assist Spider-Man throughout the game’s challenges.

Fight against movie Super Villains and then alongside them in Spider-Man: Friend or Foe – Using an innovative combat system, face off against and defeat some of the Spider-Man movies’ most notorious Super Villains such as Doc Ock, Sandman and Green Goblin, and then convert them to join Spidey’s list of potential sidekicks.

In Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, gamers team up in two-player co-op – A unique co-op mode lets friends join the game at any time and take control of Spider-Man’s sidekick. Playing in two-player co-op mode allows gamers to discover new ways to overcome obstacles and enemies. As players progress through the game, battle arenas are unlocked where raw one-on-one brawling with any Super Hero or Villain can take place at any time.

Come back for more, again and again, with Spider-Man: Friend or Foe – Replay the game or experience Versus mode with a different sidekick and eventually play as Black-Suited Spider-Man (Spidey’s darker, more aggressive persona) featuring unique powers and abilities. Throughout the different worlds, a host of secret areas containing special tokens can be discovered in the first play through, which players can go back and explore at any time. Gamers can also uncover a variety of hidden items scattered throughout the game which unlock collectables, powers and mini-games.

I'll prolly pass on this one unless I hear some outstanding hands-on reviews. I've been burned on too many spiderman games.

Do not want.

No online!! I don't have real friends to play this junk with, and my cat doesn't want me taping any more stuff to it's paws, much less a controller.

No.

The cutscenes were pretty cool looking (and funny!) but as soon as it cut to gameplay, I let out an audible gasp at how bad it looked.

Wasn't this supposed to be their apology?

Hmmm... bad looking gameplay? Not on the PS3? Coincidense... I think not! Horrible spelling, yeah... but not the other thing.

Still looks kinda fun though.

This game looks horrible. If they had been straight forward with everyone when they first announced it, told us those "screenshots" were just from cutscenes not actual gameplay, and told us it was a game aimed to kids, I'd give it some slack. But no. Now I'm bitter.

Also, where are these fabled X360 screenshots you speak of? I son't see them.

Hey Activision, you know there's a shitload of other superheroes in the Marvel Universe who are not Spider-Man? It's true.

Is that a screenshot or did someone wipe a greasy turd on my screen?

The PS2 version will work on my PS3, so, whatever. It'll take a lot to make me interested in this game, though.

Also, am I the only person who actually liked Marvel Nemesis?
