Spider-Man: Friend or Foe swings on to Xbox Live photo

A demo Activision's upcoming wallet-liner, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, has hit Xbox Live today. Coming in at 431.29 MB, the demo puts Spider-Man alongside either the Green Goblin or Venom, as they battle it out on the roof tops of Tokyo.

My wife and I fired up the demo this morning to give some of the co-op action a try, and what we found was an average looking and fairly straight forward beat 'em up. The game reminded me a bit of LEGO Star Wars -- simple, and for the first three minutes of the game, I found myself stuck in an infinite death loop after falling off a ledge. Still, in the vein of Traveler's Tales' title, it seems like it could be some mindless but enjoyable action.

Spider-Man: Friend of Foe ships on October 2 for everything but the PlayStation 3. No, really, I mean it.

I thought it was kinda fun. :(

If you play around and learn the combo system it's almost Kingdom Hearts-ish in a way. Totally worth a rental, but probably not any more than that.

To anyone who comes in here to bash this game, please note that it was designed with children in mind.

@ VWGTI:

No one has bashed the game. It was obviously designed with children in mind. So was LEGO Star Wars, and people love that game. They're very similar.

I had fun. GAWD.

oooooo. Look at the bell in the background covered in venom webbing. I bet you have to whack that shit off the bell and ring it to inflict some super sonic damage to Ol' Eddie.

@ Nick

I know no one has bashed the game yet, but to those who come in here to do so I wanted them to know. That is all.

So is that a little fuck you from Activision to Sony for Spider-Man 3 being a shitty movie and game?

I'm a demo whore. Any demo that pops out on Marketplace I suck up like a porn star when the man is finishing up. I don't really care much for this game. I haven't played a Spider-Man game since the PSOne games with cartoon Spidey. This ruled. The unlocks you got were bad ass. Big head spidey, black spidey,..etc. What happened to those? Hm?! What happened to fun comic video games!?

I've been interested in this since the E3 trailer. I'll be checking it out.

I'm playing it right now and having a lot of fun with it. I'll definitely pick this up once it gets cheaper.
