Here is the first gameplay video for Spider-Man 3 the game. As the video proclaims, this is 100% in game. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not really surprised at how great the game has turned out. I loved Spider-Man 2 so I guess I've come to expect Activision at bringing out a superb game. It will be out May 5th for all platforms.
The official Web site has also released some animated concept art worth checking out.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

On a further note, that trailer looked awesome. I have my doubts about the part where hes flipping though the flying cars. Im willing to bet if that is "in game" they probably edited out the buttons used to dodge each car.
Rainbow - get the Ultimate Spiderman game, cel shaded, damn near perfect. Not perfect, but as close as you can get to feeling like you control the comic. I liked it as it was a mixture of free roam, missions and exploring the city.
I suppose its not a big deal, but "in game footage" and "in game engine" are two different things. But anyway, looks fun, but I might have to pass for a bit, I'm spending too much on games right now...
Ultimate Spider Man wasn't nearly as good as Spider Man 2.
I agree about them probably editing out button cues in parts of that. It's hard to call a cinematic with button cues gameplay footage.
Spider-Man 2 had awesome web swinging in it, I still pop in the game every now and then just to zip around through the city. Ultimate Spider-Man dumbed that down a bit but I love the graphic style, voice acting, and story. It's a shame it can be beaten in one sitting though. It'd be a worthy Bargin Bin Laden title once it's cheap enough.
I really hope the PC version will be a port of the 360/PS3 title, and not a port of the PS2 one. The Wii is supposed to have some crazy web swinging dynamic with the controller, but I'm not getting my hopes up too much after Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. I'd still like to give that version a rent though.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I look forward to this one too.

I like em both, have beaten em at least 8-9 times each.
I laughed so hard when EGM promised to have an exclusive look at Spider-Man 3, but failed in the next issue to deliver. Ho... good times.
Sam Raimi pulled it at the last minute, it was all ready to go. No fault of EGM or Activision's, and Dan Hsu is STILL pissed about it.
