Spend your break with Kingdom Rush on PC or iPad
I started playing a bit of Kingdom Rush two weeks ago following the news of the Flash game's iPad release, and managed to drag myself away from Ironhide Game Studio's excellent little tower defense title before an entire day was lost. Alas, resistance was futile as I was reminded of its existence by Rock, Paper, Shotgun this weekend. Kingdom Rush takes traditional tower defense, puts it in a medieval fantasy jacket, and adds cute little guys you can spawn to obstruct the enemy waves à la Ninjatown on the DS. There's also a tech tree of sorts to keep you playing, upgrading your defenses and spells, and finally laughing maniacally as you go mad with power. You can play the Flash version for free over at Armor Games or nab the iPad version for $2.99. Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)Ah, I'm loving it. Why can't there be a stand-alone version, though? I'd pay $5 for this to not have to play on a webpage. Want fullscreen! I learned about that at kongregate. Enjoy it, its a good game, though a tough game too. Really like how you can redo skill points anytime you feel like it to vary strategies. Kingdom Rush is a fantastic and abnormally well-polished take on the tower defense genre. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes these types of games. It was at Armor Games for a good while before showing up on other sites like Kongregate, though I really don't know why. That's so weird you bring this up. I found this early last week on kongregate clicking it on a whim. Its one of the best free tower defense games I've ever played. So addicting. This is one of the best iPad games, period. Usually I'm not a huge fan of tower defense as most of them are more of the same. This game isn't that. For some reason, mixing towers with soldiers feels completely fresh. Add to that amazing graphics and sound, an interesting technology upgrade system, and a wide variety of challenges, and this one's an instant classic. If you own an iPad and enjoy games, get it. You won't be disappointed. 6:00 PM on 09.29.2012 HAWP: Anthony Burch's Diablo III interventionGod, friggin'... AAAAARGH! Another late HAWP post! Christ, why can't I ever catch these on time!?
