Space Invaders: Infinity Gene, a stylish update to the classic arcade game, will see a PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade release in September. Currently, you can only get this title for iPhone/iPod Touch (or Japanese mobile phones), so this is exciting news, for sure.

More than that, Infinity Gene kind of rocks. And much like Space Invaders Extreme before it, this seems like a natural fit for the console digital distribution market. Taito hasn't come out with a price -- or anything more concrete date-wise than "September" -- but we'll keep you posted.
