Space Invaders Extreme on PlayStation Portable is cool. On Xbox LIVE Arcade, it's somehow even cooler, at least in my mind. Every time I shoot down a row of blue invaders and obtain the laser power-up, I experience the greatest moment of my life. I ... I have problems.
We have been sent word that some downloadable content for the XBLA version is coming out tomorrow. The add-on brings three, count 'em three new stages, new bosses, new enemies, and something special.
What is that something special? Alright fine, I'll tell you guys. It's playable versions of the original Space Invaders and Space Invaders 2 (in amazing technicolor). At only 240 Microsoft Points, I'll probably end up buying it during one of my late night SIE sessions with some spare points. It's bound to happen.

Seeing how they charge for every other classic game on XBLA, 240 points for both original Space Invader games plus a ton of other stuff sounds like a pretty damn good deal to me.
I played the demo and this is WAY more than just a classic game, it is a complete trippy overhaul. When I have some points to spend I'm getting this and the expansion...totally worth it.
I should buy Space Invaders Extreme. I had a good time with the demo. It seemed like the core mechanics were a little basic though, am I right on that(not a bad thing necessarily)?
Finally got around to getting this last week and it's brilliant, I'll almost definitely pick up this DLC with the usual flotsam of points I have after a Rock band DLC spending spree.
I need to be more in tune with my space invaders purchase... I barely touched it since I downloaded it... that happens, though. =( Maybe this DLC will spark a new flame for me and this game.
I don't see the difference between Spance Invader and S.I. part 2 when i played them and I had no idea that the DLC came with extra invaders etc., have to have a closer look!
